1991 Acura NSX STD Coupe Review
by Jim

Childhood Dream Car

I was 13 when this car hit the US market, and I remember it beating a number of big-name competitors; Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette, Lotus... The NSX changed how 'supercars' were built and sold in the American market. 23 years later, this car still looks fantastic. The performance in this car isn't up to spec with recent supercars, and in t...

Avg. Dealer Rating: (21 reviews) "I wanted to be "Wowed" but ended up Disappointed....... The Facts: I responded to a listing for a specific used car. I changed weekend plans and drove 45 minutes to the dealership after being contacted by a salesman. He assured me the car was there and emailed that he had set it aside for me before I left home. I arrived with cash in pocket to learn the vehicle had been sold. The manager apologized and said he would work to find me a deal on another car and told me making things right with me was more important to him than making a big profit on a car. I left optimistic about his sincerity and told him I would reserve judgement about my experience at that point. A week later I had not heard anything back but I received an automated email from my original salesman so I gave him one more shot. He asked me to look at the inventory on line and said he would make something work for me. I sent him several possibilities via email on Saturday night and he promised to get back to me by Monday. After no replies to my emails and texts a different salesman contacted me 4 days later on a Wednesday stating the original salesman was "away". I felt like I was starting from scratch. The original manager offered me a price on one of the cars I emailed about but said he could not get in into my price range even though he had offered a larger discount on a different car on my first visit to the dealership. A customers impression: it should be noted that the original car I inquired about remained on Car Gurus for over a week after it was sold and was only taken down after I pointed it out to the salesman. Maybe not bait and switch but possibly bait. It could be an honest mistake but a Camry of theirs I viewed on line is listed as an SE model but the pictures they took and posted clearly show an LE model on the rear trunk lid and I did not get an answer to my question about that. If these are honest mistakes it is poor attention to detail. Unfortunately I feel like my two weeks dealing in person and on- line with this dealership was wasted. I did not feel that there was a sincere effort to make things right with me as I was originally told and I do not feel valued as a potential customer. Although I was searching for a used car for a family member at this time, my next scheduled purchase is a new Tacoma pickup. It does not look like I will be making either purchase at this dealership and I can't recommend it based on my experience."
