Best car that I've ever owned. loaded with luxury comforts, smooth at highway speeds, quiet inside. Will do 100 with minimal effort, capable of130+. . 40mph to 80 happens in a flash. Mine is the 6speed manual. Only problems have occured because of faulty maintanance by Firestone. (never again). Only complaint: being front wheel drive the weight distribution is front-heavy. Therefore high speed handling /braking could be better. Front brakes only last about 30k due to the weight.

Type-S model really gives you the power to beat 3-series BMWs on the straights. Looks gourgeous after 8 years and still turns heads, especially with 15K HID lights. Gas mileage is decent enough and its a blast to drive. Only major problem is that Acura does have a recall on the 5 spd auto transmission.

quiet, responsive and a nice growl when u get on it... the manual mode of the 5 spd auto is immediate although I wish it allowed me to grab first gear. on the other hand, the auto trans shifts abruptly and the long term reliability of Honda automatics isn't nearly as stellar as that of their engines. I love the interior, black leather supportive seats, all controls in the usual Honda places. memory for the seating position is a bonus. wish it was better on fuel. brakes are great, VSA is not intrusive and it can be switched OFF at will.

Offered between 1997 and 2003, the Acura CL replaced the Legend coupe, just as the Acura RL replaced the Legend sedan. Acura's parent company, Honda, hoped that the differentiation of the model lines would help sales; both the Acura CL and Acura RL were positioned as midsize luxury cars, but the CL's styling and engineering definitely had a stronger emphasis on performance.
The Acura CL was offered in a range of trims that emphasized, to differing degrees, the brand's sports performance and luxury focus. Although Acura chose not to follow the CL with another luxury coupe, some of the sports performance focus was carried over into the compact RSX, which was discontinued in 2006.
