New & Used 2026 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearSanta Cruz, CA

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 earns a 6.5/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

That score lines up with the XC60’s appeal as a stylish, premium compact crossover with comfortable seats and a cabin that feels upscale and current thanks to the new Volvo Car UX infotainment system. It also fits the use case if you want a comfortable, luxurious family SUV that feels calm and polished on the road.

The trade-offs are real, though: the XC60 is described as sluggish, its fuel economy is poor, and its driver assistance tech is unimpressive. Even so, the market still shows 38.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is presented as a comfortable, premium SUV with standard safety tech and a long-standing safety reputation, but its driver-assistance systems are not a strong point. The powertrain is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and the review notes that it is not especially quick and can feel delayed in response. The infotainment and connected-services setup are a major update for the year, and Volvo includes two complimentary services with a lease or purchase.

The maintenance coverage is also a little less generous this year, with the complimentary maintenance program reduced from three years/30,000 miles to two years/20,000 miles. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about living with a modestly powered, aging luxury SUV than expecting major dependability surprises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim example with larger wheels or more expensive options. Focus on overall condition, wheel and tire wear, and whether the cabin tech and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60 comes in Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition trim levels. The cabin is a major selling point, but the base setup is less lavish than the higher trims, and the review highlights how much the Ultra’s upgraded materials and features change the experience.
• Powertrain: The XC60 T5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 247 horsepower, 266 pound-feet of torque, an eight-speed automatic, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It is not especially quick, and response can feel delayed.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist, and the XC60 also includes forward-collision warning, oncoming collision mitigation braking, and intersection braking assist. The review says the system is not especially sophisticated, and there is no hands-free highway driving system or low-speed traffic jam assist system.
• Infotainment: The XC60 gets an 11.2-inch touchscreen with Volvo Car UX, Google built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, and Google Play. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but Apple CarPlay requires a wired connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating is 26 mpg in combined driving, and the review recorded 24.7 mpg on one fuel-economy loop and 21.7 mpg on another.

Which 2026 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, but the XC60’s appeal is strongest when you move up to the better-equipped trims and get more of the premium cabin experience that defines the SUV.
• Plus: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value without pushing too far up the price ladder.
• Ultra: This is the best-value trim. It delivers the richly finished cabin and upscale feel that make the XC60 stand out, and the review specifically suggests sticking with Ultra while skipping the pricier extras.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the XC60’s upscale character with a more distinctive appearance.

The safety package is standard this year, but the review still describes the driver-assistance tech as unimpressive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,337 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 96.8% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It earns a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and five-star ratings in each individual crash test except for rollover resistance.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The XC60 includes forward-collision warning that can detect large animals as well as pedestrians and cyclists, oncoming collision mitigation braking, intersection braking assist, and Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist. Volvo also offers factory-installed integrated rear booster child seats as an option.

The caution here is that the driver-assistance tech is not especially polished, and the review says it falls short of comparable systems from other brands. There is no hands-free highway driving system or low-speed traffic jam assist system available.

Should I buy a 2026 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the 2026 Volvo XC60: the new Volvo Car UX infotainment system brings an 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and an improved user experience.

The bottom line: If you want the newest cabin tech and a comfortable, upscale XC60, the 2026 model is the one to focus on. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may make more sense, especially if you can give up some of the latest infotainment updates in exchange for a lower asking price.
