New & Used 2026 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearRocky Mount, NC

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 earns a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It stays appealing because Volvo gives you a more current cabin and tech setup in an aging package, including the new Car UX infotainment system, an 11.2-inch touchscreen, and Google Gemini integration. The XC60 also leans into its upscale identity with stylish design, premium interior materials, and comfortable seats, which makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury SUV that feels calm and polished.

The trade-offs are real: the XC60 is described as sluggish, and its fuel economy is poor. Its driver-assistance tech is also unimpressive, even though adaptive cruise control is standard this year.

With 40.5% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is presented as a familiar, well-established luxury SUV with a mild-hybrid powertrain and standard all-wheel drive, which supports its everyday usability. Volvo also includes two complimentary services with a lease or purchase, and the infotainment and Google built-in features are described as functioning flawlessly in testing.

The performance notes point to a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 247 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, plus regenerative braking and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. That setup is efficient in concept, but the real-world results were mixed, with delayed response from turbo lag or transmission behavior and fuel economy that fell short of the official figure.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this XC60’s aging hardware and underwhelming efficiency may make it less satisfying over time than its premium cabin suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with expensive options. Focus on overall condition, because the XC60’s upscale cabin and available equipment can make cosmetic wear and neglected maintenance more costly to live with.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60 T5 comes in Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition trim levels. The base trim is the most stripped-down version, while the higher trims add more of the premium touches that define this SUV, including the richer cabin presentation and available luxury upgrades.
• Powertrain: The T5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 247 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It’s not especially quick, and the power delivery can feel delayed.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist, and standard safety tech includes forward-collision warning that can detect large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, plus oncoming collision mitigation braking and intersection braking assist. The system is not especially sophisticated, and the XC60 lacks hands-free highway driving and low-speed traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.2-inch portrait touchscreen with Volvo Car UX, Google built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, and Google Play. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but Apple CarPlay requires a wired connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating is 26 mpg combined, but testing returned 24.7 mpg on one loop and 21.7 mpg on another.

Which 2026 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the XC60’s style, comfort, and new infotainment system without paying for the more lavish upgrades.
• Plus: This is the trim to consider if you want a better balance of equipment and value, since it should give you more of the XC60’s upscale feel without pushing too far up the price ladder.
• Ultra: This is the best-value trim if you want the richest cabin experience, because the content highlights the sumptuously outfitted interior and notes that skipping the biggest options can make it much more reasonable.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the XC60’s premium look with a darker visual theme and you care about appearance as much as equipment.

The safety package centers on Pilot Assist, but the system’s real-world performance is uneven, so don’t assume the higher trim will solve that issue.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market if you’re shopping carefully, because there’s meaningful deal availability and a large enough inventory to compare examples.

• Deal availability: 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,245 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 97.3% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It earns a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and five-star ratings in each individual crash test except for rollover resistance.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The XC60’s standard safety equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian, cyclist, and large-animal detection, oncoming collision mitigation braking, and intersection braking assist. Volvo also offers factory-installed integrated rear booster child seats as an option.

The caveat is that the driver-assistance tech is not especially impressive. Pilot Assist can lose lane tracking, react late in traffic, and wander or issue false warnings in some situations, and the XC60 does not offer hands-free highway driving or low-speed traffic jam assist.

Should I buy a 2026 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The new Car UX infotainment system, 11.2-inch touchscreen, and Google Gemini integration are the standout updates for this year.

The bottom line: If you want the most current XC60 cabin and tech package, the 2026 model is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may make more sense, especially if you can live without the latest infotainment updates and want to spend less for a similar overall experience.
