New & Used 2026 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearMinneapolis, MN

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 earns a 6.5/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It stays appealing because Volvo pairs subtle styling updates with new technology that helps the compact crossover feel current, including the new Car UX infotainment system, an 11.2-inch touchscreen, and Google Gemini integration. The cabin remains a major draw thanks to its stylish design, premium interior materials, and comfortable seats, and the XC60 is framed as an undeniably appealing and luxurious choice for buyers who value comfort and an upscale feel.

The trade-offs are real, though: the XC60 is held back by sluggish performance and poor fuel economy, and its driver-assistance tech is unimpressive compared with rivals. If you want a compact luxury SUV that leans into design, comfort, and a modern-feeling cabin, it still makes sense to shop; if you prioritize quick acceleration or standout efficiency, you may want to look elsewhere. Good and great deals account for 39.8% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is presented as a comfortable, upscale SUV with standard safety tech and a powertrain that uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system with regenerative braking. Its infotainment and connected-services setup also looks well sorted, with Google built-in, remote app features, and a complimentary four-year subscription to Digital Services.

On the dependability side, the performance notes suggest you should expect some hesitation from the turbocharged powertrain, especially because response can be delayed by turbo lag or transmission behavior. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a reduced complimentary maintenance program this year, which matters if you plan to keep the vehicle long term.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that the XC60’s upscale appeal may be easier to enjoy than its long-term running costs if you buy one that has been neglected or driven hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with larger wheels and more expensive options. Focus on the condition of the infotainment system, the driver-assistance features, and the ride quality, since those are the areas where this XC60’s appeal and compromises are most likely to show up in daily use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60 is offered as the T5 mild hybrid and the T8 Plug-in Hybrid, and the review covers the T5 in Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition trim levels. The base setup is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment, while the Ultra brings the richer cabin presentation that best matches the XC60’s upscale personality.
• Powertrain: The T5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 247 horsepower and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, paired with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The review notes that it is not especially quick and can feel delayed in response, so smoothness matters more than urgency here.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist is the named driver-assistance suite, and it combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist. Standard safety equipment also includes forward-collision warning that can detect large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, plus oncoming collision mitigation braking and intersection braking assist; however, the system is described as less polished than rivals, and there is no hands-free highway driving system or low-speed traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: The XC60 gets a larger 11.2-inch touchscreen with Volvo Car UX, Google built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, and Google Play. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but CarPlay requires a wired connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating is 26 mpg in combined driving, while real-world testing returned 24.7 mpg on one loop and 21.7 mpg on another.

Which 2026 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the XC60’s styling, comfort, and standard tech without stretching for extras. It gives you the basic Volvo experience, but it is also the trim most likely to leave you wishing for more of the cabin polish that defines the model.
• Plus: This is the trim to consider if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It should give you more of the XC60’s upscale feel without pushing you into the highest-priced versions, making it the most natural starting point for many used shoppers.
• Ultra: This is the best-value trim if you care most about the XC60’s premium interior and comfort story. The review specifically highlights the Ultra’s richly finished cabin, and it is the trim that best matches the SUV’s stylish design and luxurious personality.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the XC60’s upscale look with a more distinctive appearance. It is the trim for shoppers who care about presentation and want something that stands apart visually.

The safety package is a strength across the lineup, but the driver-assistance tech itself is not a standout, so don’t expect a trim jump to transform that part of the experience.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It earns five-star ratings in each individual crash test except for rollover resistance from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The XC60 comes with a broad set of safety features, including forward-collision warning that can identify large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, oncoming collision mitigation braking, and intersection braking assist. Volvo also offers factory-installed integrated rear booster child seats as an option.

The caveat is that the driver-assistance tech is not especially impressive. Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist, is described as unsophisticated, and the system lacks a touch-sensing steering wheel. The review also notes that Volvo does not offer hands-free highway driving or low-speed traffic jam assist here.

Should I buy a 2026 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Volvo’s new Car UX infotainment system, the 11.2-inch touchscreen, and Google Gemini integration make this year feel more current than the XC60’s age might suggest.

The bottom line: if you want the most modern-feeling XC60 cabin and can live with the model’s performance and safety-tech compromises, the 2026 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may deliver a similar overall experience for less money, especially if you are willing to give up the newest infotainment updates.
