New & Used 2026 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearChillicothe, OH

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 earns a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

That score lines up with what you get from the XC60’s updated cabin and tech: the new Volvo Car UX system, an 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and a more polished overall user experience help it feel current. It also keeps the upscale appeal going with stylish design, premium interior materials, and comfortable seats.

The trade-offs are real, though. The test-drive data calls out sluggish performance and poor fuel economy, and the driver-assistance tech is described as unimpressive compared with rivals.

For you, that means the XC60 makes the most sense if you value a refined, comfortable luxury SUV more than outright speed or efficiency. With 36.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s at least some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is presented as a polished, comfortable luxury SUV with a modernized infotainment system and standard adaptive cruise control, but the test-drive data also points to uneven power delivery and fuel economy that falls short of expectations. Its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system with regenerative braking, and Volvo includes two complimentary services with a lease or purchase.

The infotainment and connected-services updates suggest a more contemporary ownership experience, and the system’s Google built-in features worked well in testing. The cost-effectiveness data also notes that Volvo’s free four-year connected services plan is better than what many rivals offer.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is less about outright mechanical drama and more about living with a premium SUV whose performance and efficiency may not age as gracefully as its cabin design.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or one with expensive options. Focus on overall condition, because the XC60’s premium wheels, air suspension, and upscale interior pieces can be costly to live with if they’ve been neglected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60 T5 comes in Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition trim levels. The base trim gets the essentials, while higher trims add the richer cabin materials and luxury features that make this SUV feel special.
• Powertrain: The T5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 247 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The data also notes a claimed 6.5-second sprint to 60 mph, but response can feel delayed.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist. Standard safety tech also includes forward-collision warning that can detect large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, oncoming collision mitigation braking, and intersection braking assist. The data also notes that the system lacks a touch-sensing steering wheel.
• Infotainment: The XC60 gets an 11.2-inch touchscreen, Volvo Car UX, Google built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, and Google Play. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but CarPlay requires a wired connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating is 26 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 24.7 mpg on one loop and 21.7 mpg on another.

Which 2026 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the XC60’s design, standard safety tech, and updated infotainment without stretching for luxury extras.
• Plus: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value, since it should give you more of the XC60’s upscale feel without pushing too far up the price ladder.
• Ultra: This is the best-value trim if you want the XC60 at its most convincing. The data highlights the richly finished cabin, and the cost-effectiveness notes say skipping the biggest options on Ultra makes the SUV more reasonable while preserving what you’re really buying it for.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the XC60’s upscale look with a more distinctive appearance, but the core appeal still comes from the same comfort- and luxury-focused character.

The safety package centers on Pilot Assist, but the data also makes clear that the system is not as polished as some rivals’ driver-assistance setups.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it’s a good time to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,159 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 97.7% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The reason is an Acceptable rather than a Good rating in the side-impact crash test.

It earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, and five-star ratings in each individual crash test except for rollover resistance.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The XC60’s safety suite includes forward-collision warning that can identify large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, oncoming collision mitigation braking, intersection braking assist, and Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist. Volvo also offers factory-installed integrated rear booster child seats as an option.

The caveat is that the driver-assistance tech underwhelmed in testing. Pilot Assist was described as unsophisticated, lane keeping could be inconsistent, and the system lacks a touch-sensing steering wheel. There’s also no hands-free highway driving system or low-speed traffic jam assist system available.

Should I buy a 2026 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The new Volvo Car UX infotainment system, 11.2-inch touchscreen, and Google Gemini integration are the standout updates for this year.

The bottom line: If you want the most current XC60 experience, the 2026 model is the one to target because its updated tech meaningfully freshens the cabin. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, especially if you’re willing to give up some of the newest infotainment improvements in exchange for a lower purchase price.
