New & Used 2026 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearBeech Bottom, WV

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 earns a 6.5/10 expert rating, and the standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The 2026 XC60 stays appealing because it blends subtle styling updates with new technology that helps it feel current despite its aging design. Volvo’s new Car UX infotainment system is the centerpiece, bringing an 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and an improved user experience. It also stands out for its stylish design, premium interior materials, and comfortable seats, which reinforce its upscale character.

The trade-offs are real: it is described as sluggish, its fuel economy is poor, and its driver-assistance tech is unimpressive even though adaptive cruise control is standard this year. For you, that means the XC60 makes the most sense if you value comfort, cabin quality, and a polished luxury feel more than quick acceleration or class-leading efficiency.

With 36.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2026 XC60 is presented as a mature, well-developed compact luxury SUV with a mild-hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, and a long-running design that has been refined rather than reinvented. That generally points to a familiar ownership experience rather than a complicated one.

Its powertrain uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, regenerative braking, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Volvo also includes two complimentary services with a lease or purchase, which helps soften early ownership costs. The infotainment and connected-services setup is also modernized this year, and the system is described as functioning flawlessly in use.

The main caution for long-term ownership is that the XC60’s aging hardware and mixed efficiency/performance results suggest you should expect a premium-car ownership experience that depends more on careful maintenance and realistic expectations than on standout durability bragging rights.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-spec example with larger wheels, air suspension, or premium audio. Focus on cabin condition, wheel damage, and whether the tech and driver-assistance systems behave as expected during a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60 is offered as the T5 mild hybrid and the T8 Plug-in Hybrid. The review covers the XC60 T5, which comes in Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition trim levels. The base setup is already upscale, but the Ultra trim is the one that most clearly showcases the cabin’s premium materials and comfort features.
• Powertrain: The T5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 247 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, plus a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is not especially quick, and the power delivery can feel uneven because of turbo lag or transmission hesitation.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist, and standard safety tech includes forward-collision warning that can detect large animals, oncoming collision mitigation braking, and intersection braking assist. Volvo also offers factory-installed integrated rear booster child seats. The system is not especially polished, and the driver-assistance setup is less impressive than rivals.
• Infotainment: The XC60 gets a larger 11.2-inch touchscreen with Volvo Car UX, Google built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, and Google Play. It also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but Apple CarPlay requires a wired connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating is 26 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 24.7 mpg on one fuel-economy loop and 21.7 mpg on an extended route.

Which 2026 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the XC60’s style, comfort, and new infotainment without paying for extras you may not need. It gives you the basic XC60 experience, but it will not deliver the richer cabin presentation that makes the model feel special.
• Plus: This is the trim to consider if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It should be the best-value choice for many shoppers because it moves you beyond the most basic setup without pushing you into the highest-priced versions.
• Ultra: This is the trim that best matches the XC60’s upscale personality. The review’s test vehicle was an Ultra with upgrades, and the cabin presentation, premium materials, and comfort features are what make the XC60 feel most convincing here.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the XC60’s luxury character with a darker visual theme. It is for shoppers who care about appearance and presence as much as equipment.

The safety package includes Pilot Assist, but the system’s real-world performance is not a strong point, so trim choice should be driven more by comfort and equipment than by driver-assistance expectations.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It earns a top five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and five-star ratings in each individual crash test except for rollover resistance.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The XC60 includes a broad set of safety features, including forward-collision warning with pedestrian, cyclist, and large-animal detection, oncoming collision mitigation braking, intersection braking assist, and available integrated rear booster child seats. Pilot Assist is standard and combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist.

The caveat is that the driver-assistance tech is not especially impressive in practice. The lane-centering and lane-keep functions can wander, react poorly to lane changes and traffic flow, and require more driver attention than you might expect from a luxury SUV. If safety technology is a top priority, that is the XC60’s biggest weakness.

Should I buy a 2026 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2026 XC60’s biggest appeal is its updated Car UX infotainment system, which brings an 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and a more current feel to an aging design.

The bottom line: If you want the newest XC60 with the most modern cabin tech, the 2026 is the one to target. If your priority is value and you are less concerned about having the latest infotainment, a nearby model year may be the smarter buy because the XC60’s core strengths are comfort and luxury rather than dramatic year-to-year changes.
