New & Used 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander for Sale nearBloomington, IL

Is the 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander a good car?

The 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander stands out as a spacious, family-focused three-row SUV that gives you extra room without forcing you into a larger, truck-based SUV. Toyota designed it to sit between the regular Highlander and the Sequoia, and its adult-sized third row, generous cargo space, and more modern, upmarket look are the main reasons it makes sense for buyers who want practicality with a little more polish.

It also gives you a useful powertrain spread for a large SUV, with four-cylinder options and both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive available. The gas model’s 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 265 horsepower, and Toyota says the Grand Highlander can return 22-24 mpg combined for gas models, 33-36 mpg for the standard hybrid, and 27 mpg for Hybrid MAX versions.

The tradeoff is that it has been criticized for cumbersome handling, some cheap-feeling interior materials, and early reliability concerns. Even so, its mix of space, efficiency, and everyday usefulness makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy family hauler rather than a sporty SUV. With 36.5% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find a competitive example.

Is the 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander reliable?

The 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander is described as a practical, efficient three-row SUV, but it also comes with early reliability concerns that you should take seriously. Toyota’s focus here is on family-friendly space, fuel economy, and everyday usefulness, and the model’s four-cylinder-only lineup supports that mission.

At the same time, the vehicle has been criticized for noisy interiors, hood vibrations, and other issues, which means you should pay close attention to condition and maintenance history when shopping used. For long-term ownership, that makes careful screening especially important if you want to reduce the risk of unexpected repair headaches.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this model has had early reliability concerns. Focus on interior condition, signs of vibration or noise, and whether the vehicle feels well maintained, since those are the kinds of issues that can matter most in a used family SUV.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of this roomy, family-focused SUV and you value strong inventory quality, the 2026 is a sensible place to start. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point while still delivering the same core strengths, so it’s worth comparing listings side by side.
