New & Used 2026 Toyota Camry for Sale nearHartwick, NY

Is the 2026 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — you rate it 5/5, and our experts rate it 7.83/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The 2026 Toyota Camry is built around practicality, with an emphasis on affordability, efficiency, and safety. It remains one of the few midsize sedans still sold in the United States, and it comes in five trim levels with a standard hybrid powertrain across the lineup. Toyota also kept changes modest for 2026, adding a sporty Nightshade Edition trim level and a paint color called Dark Cosmos.

That straightforward formula gives the Camry broad appeal if you want a dependable daily driver rather than something flashy. It is described as cheap to own, safe, comfortable, and good to drive, while also offering fuel efficiency and easy-to-use technology. The tradeoffs are familiar ones: the styling is uninspired, cargo space is limited, and the stereo is lacking.

With 39.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 Camry is framed as cheap to own and dependable, with the kind of straightforward ownership profile that suits a daily driver. Its hybrid-only setup is described as tried-and-true, and the car’s balance of ride and handling suggests a mature, well-sorted package rather than a complicated one.

The performance notes also point to a robust electric motor and a powertrain that feels stronger than its output number suggests. Toyota’s cost-effectiveness coverage adds that the Camry has a complimentary maintenance package that lasts twice as long as the Accord’s.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained and hasn’t been abused.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota Camry?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any Camry you’re considering, even if the market looks clean overall. Prioritize a careful inspection of the condition, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or one with added equipment. Focus on how the car presents inside and out, since the Camry’s appeal is tied to sensible ownership and everyday livability.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Camry comes in LE, SE, Nightshade Edition, XLE, and XSE trim levels. The Nightshade Edition adds trendy blacked-out styling and 19-inch wheels, while the SE, Nightshade Edition, and XSE have a sport-tuned suspension. The Nightshade Edition mirrors the SE inside, but it comes only with a black interior. The base trim is the most straightforward choice, while the Nightshade Edition is the style play if you want the sportiest look without moving up to the luxury-oriented trims.

• Powertrain: Every 2026 Camry uses a hybrid system built around a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motors. Front-wheel-drive models make 225 horsepower, while all-wheel-drive versions add a third electric motor and raise output to 232 hp. Fuel economy ranges from 43 mpg to 51 mpg in combined city and highway driving, depending on trim and drivetrain.

• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every 2026 Camry and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign assist, and high-beam assist. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe-exit warning are also standard. Touch-sensing steering wheel hardware is available on XLE and XSE models.

• Infotainment: More affordable Camry models use an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM with a three-month trial, and a six-speaker audio system. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is available with the Multimedia Upgrade Package, and Drive Connect adds cloud-based navigation, destination assistance, and an Intelligent Assistant voice system. Drive Connect comes with a one-year trial, but only with XLE and XSE trims.

• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy ranges from 43 mpg to 51 mpg in combined city and highway driving. Our FWD Nightshade test car was rated at 46 mpg, and it averaged 44.5 mpg on a 30-mile mixed-driving test loop.

Which 2026 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota Camry is offered in 5 trim levels: LE, SE, Nightshade Edition, XLE, and XSE.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the simplest path into the Camry lineup, and it gives you the core hybrid efficiency and standard safety tech without extra frills. It suits you if you want the lowest-key, most value-focused version.

• SE: This trim adds a sportier feel, and it’s one of the trims with a sport-tuned suspension. It makes sense if you want a little more attitude without jumping to the top of the range.

• Nightshade Edition: This is the style-focused pick, with satin black 19-inch wheels, gloss-black exterior detailing, and a black interior. It’s the best-value choice if you want the Camry’s sporty look and still want to keep the formula simple.

• XLE: This is the more upscale direction, and it adds access to features such as the touch-sensing steering wheel and Drive Connect. Choose it if you want a more premium daily driver.

• XSE: This is the most feature-rich sporty trim, combining the sport-tuned suspension with the higher-end equipment path. It suits you if you want the strongest blend of style and content.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the lineup, and blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe-exit warning are included on every trim.

Is the 2026 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2026 Camry earns five-star ratings from NHTSA in every individual assessment, and the IIHS names it a Top Safety Pick+.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every 2026 Camry and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign assist, and high-beam assist. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe-exit warning are also standard.

Predictive Driving Assist is also part of the package, and Toyota says it can help monitor following distances and avoid obstacles even when adaptive cruise control is not active. The main trim-level note is that the touch-sensing steering wheel is available on XLE and XSE models, but not on the Nightshade Edition test car.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Toyota kept changes modest, adding the Nightshade Edition and Dark Cosmos paint while preserving the Camry’s practical hybrid formula.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It introduced the Camry’s new hybrid-only direction and brought a fresh look and new features.

The bottom line: If you want the most current version of this practical hybrid sedan, the 2026 Camry is the easy default. If you’re shopping mainly on price, the 2025 is worth a look because it delivers the same basic formula with a strong value proposition.
