New & Used 2026 Toyota Camry for Sale nearDowns, IL

How much does the 2026 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 4.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,106 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2026 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Toyota Camry earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The Camry is built around practicality, with an emphasis on affordability, efficiency, and safety. It remains one of the few midsize sedans still sold in the United States, and it comes in five trim levels with a standard hybrid powertrain across the lineup. That makes it a strong fit if you want a dependable daily driver rather than something flashy.

The trade-offs are familiar ones: the styling is uninspired, cargo space is limited, and the stereo is lacking. Even so, the Camry is described as cheap to own, safe, comfortable, and good to drive, with fuel efficiency and easy-to-use technology rounding out the appeal.

Good and great deals account for 33.5% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Camry’s reliability case is reinforced by its practical design, standard hybrid setup, and reputation for being cheap to own. It is also described as dependable, comfortable, and easy to live with, which matters if you plan to keep the car for the long haul. The hybrid powertrain is presented as tried-and-true, and the car’s overall formula is aimed at low-stress ownership.

Toyota’s complimentary maintenance package lasts twice as long as the Accord’s, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been neglected or heavily worn.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota Camry?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, even with a strong accident-free share, because condition can vary widely from one listing to the next. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage car or one with visible wear. Focus on signs of interior wear, tire condition, brake life, and whether the tech and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE, SE, Nightshade Edition, XLE, and XSE trims differ in appearance and equipment, and the base models are more basic inside. The Nightshade Edition adds a sportier look with satin black 19-inch wheels and gloss-black exterior detailing, while the XLE and XSE bring more upscale touches and additional convenience features.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a hybrid setup with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motors. Front-wheel-drive models make 225 horsepower, while all-wheel-drive versions add a rear motor and increase output to 232 hp. Fuel economy ranges from 43 mpg to 51 mpg in combined driving, depending on trim and drivetrain.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign assist, and high-beam assist. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe-exit warning are also standard. Touch-sensing steering-wheel functionality is available on XLE and XSE models, but not on the Nightshade Edition.
• Infotainment: More affordable trims use an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is available with the Multimedia Upgrade Package, and Drive Connect adds cloud-based navigation, destination assistance, and voice recognition. The standard audio system is a six-speaker setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The Camry returns 43 mpg to 51 mpg in combined city and highway driving, depending on trim and drivetrain. Our test car averaged 44.5 mpg on a mixed-driving loop.

Which 2026 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota Camry is offered in 5 trim levels: LE, SE, Nightshade Edition, XLE, and XSE.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the most affordable path into the Camry lineup, and it gives you the core hybrid efficiency, standard safety tech, and wireless smartphone integration without paying for extras you may not need.
• SE: This trim adds a sportier look and a sport-tuned suspension, making it a good choice if you want a little more personality without moving too far up the price ladder.
• Nightshade Edition: This is the style-focused pick, with blacked-out exterior details, 19-inch wheels, and a black interior. It suits you if you want the most distinctive appearance and can live without some of the higher-trim convenience features.
• XLE: This is the more comfort-oriented choice, and it also unlocks features such as the touch-sensing steering wheel and Drive Connect. It makes sense if you want a more upscale daily driver.
• XSE: This is the best-value trim if you want a richer feature set and a sportier feel together. It combines the more premium equipment with the sport-tuned suspension and is the trim to target if you want the broadest mix of comfort and driving appeal.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the lineup, and blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe-exit warning are included on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,106 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,251, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $32,251 sits slightly below last year's $33,930.

That price movement suggests the Camry is currently more favorable for buyers than sellers. If you buy now, you’re entering at a softer market level, which can help limit your upfront cost. For a future seller, that also means resale performance will depend more on condition, mileage, and trim desirability than on broad market momentum.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2026 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2026 Toyota Camry earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every 2026 Camry and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign assist, and high-beam assist. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe-exit warning are also standard. Predictive Driving Assist is part of the package as well.

One caveat is that the lane-centering system can feel unnatural in some curves, and adaptive cruise control can scrub off too much speed in bends. The Nightshade Edition also lacks the touch-sensing steering wheel that is available on XLE and XSE models.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Toyota added a sporty Nightshade Edition trim level and Dark Cosmos paint for this year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $28,476, the 2025 costs less than the current year's $32,251 average.
• It offers a strong value proposition with fuel economy that stands out in its class.

The bottom line: If you want the newer Camry with the latest trim additions and a softer used-market price than last year, the 2026 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2025 is the smarter budget-focused alternative.
