New & Used 2026 RAM 2500 for Sale nearMetairie, LA

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 RAM 2500 earns 5/5 from users and 7.7/10 from CarGurus experts. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It’s a heavy-duty pickup built for buyers who need serious capability rather than easy city driving, with multiple cab and bed choices, a powerful engine, and impressive towing and off-road capability. That makes it a strong fit if you need a truck that can work hard, even though it is big, expensive, and hard to park in urban settings.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and the truck gets expensive fast. Even so, the 2026 model’s broad configuration choices and work-focused strength make it compelling for heavy-duty truck shoppers.

Good and great deals account for 32.6% of listings, which gives you a decent amount of market choice.

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 RAM 2500 is described as a truck with immense durability and the kind of stout powertrains buyers expect from a heavy-duty pickup. Its performance focus is on serious work, including hauling and towing, which supports the idea that it’s built for demanding use over time.

If you’re shopping used, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that heavy-duty trucks often see hard use, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on wear items, signs of heavy use, and whether the configuration matches how you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Tradesman is a no-frills workhorse with plain matte plastic grille and black steel wheels, while the Big Horn adds chrome. The Black Express brings a street-oriented look with a Sport Performance Hood, 20-inch black wheels, and black tubular side steps, while the Warlock is aimed at the off-road crowd with unique decals, fender flares, 20-inch diamond-cut wheels, and 34-inch all-terrain tires. The Laramie adds more creature comforts, and the Limited and Limited Longhorn move into high-end leather interiors.
• Powertrain: The standard 6.4-liter Hemi V8 makes 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. The available 6.7-liter Cummins turbocharged diesel makes 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque, and it’s the better choice if you need maximum towing strength. The diesel is slower off the line, while the gas engine feels quicker around town.
• Safety package: Adaptive steering, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and lane-keep assist are part of the Safety Group package. Blind-spot monitors with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn. ParkSense parking sensors are optional on Tradesman, Black Express, and Warlock, but standard on the other trims.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie use a 12-inch unit, and top-shelf trucks get a 14.4-inch touchscreen. Uconnect 5 is standard, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and built-in navigation is optional.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

• Black Express: Choose this if you want a street-oriented appearance package with the Crew Cab body, blacked-out details, and a sporty visual theme.
• Warlock: This is the trim to consider if you want an off-road-focused setup with 4WD, a short bed, all-terrain tires, skid protection, and hill descent control.
• Laramie: This is the comfort-focused choice if you want a more upscale cabin and more standard equipment without jumping all the way to the luxury trims.
• Limited: Pick this if you want a high-end leather interior and a more premium overall feel.
• Limited Longhorn: This is the most upscale-feeling option in the lineup, with a luxury-oriented interior and premium finishes.
