New & Used 2026 Nissan Z for Sale nearKennewick, WA

Is the 2026 Nissan Z a good car?

The 2026 Nissan Z earns a 6.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It’s a two-seat coupe with a liftback design, a six-cylinder engine, and rear-wheel drive, and it keeps a classic sports-car formula alive in a modern package. The 2026 model also stands out in a segment with no direct competition, and the Heritage Edition adds extra visual appeal with its paint color, bronze wheels, and retro graphics and badges.

The trade-offs are clear: the car can feel out of date because it rides on an older platform, and the steering, seats, and technology are all called out as weak points. Even so, if you want a traditional sports car with strong power and a distinctive look, the Z still makes a compelling case.

Good and great deals account for 39.7% of listings, so there’s a meaningful share of attractive inventory to consider.

Is the 2026 Nissan Z reliable?

The 2026 Nissan Z is presented as a straightforward sports car with a familiar mechanical layout, which can be a plus if you want a simpler enthusiast machine. It uses a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6, rear-wheel drive, and either a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic, and the expert notes that the engine is a gem with strong, effortless power delivery.

The performance notes also suggest the Z is built to be driven hard, but not necessarily to feel polished in everyday use. The ride is choppy, road noise is loud, and the steering is a recurring criticism, which means the car’s character is more raw than refined.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about outright complexity than about living with a sports car that may demand more tolerance for noise, firmness, and age-related wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Nissan Z?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car hasn’t had hidden bodywork or track use, especially if you’re shopping for a higher-trim example. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the steering feel, clutch operation if it’s a manual, and any signs of curb or underbody contact, since the car’s front air dam sits low. You’ll also want to check cabin condition closely, because the seats and tech are both areas where the Z can disappoint.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport is the simplest version, while Performance adds a mechanical limited-slip differential, performance brakes, 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, and SynchroRev Match for the manual transmission. Heritage Edition builds on Performance with Midnight Purple paint, bronze 19-inch Rays forged aluminum wheels, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, retro-inspired graphics, special floor mats, and unique door kick plates. Nismo is the most aggressive version, with chassis bracing, revised steering, upgraded brakes, exclusive suspension tuning, wider rear wheels, and high-performance summer tires.
• Powertrain: The Z uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic. The Nismo version raises output to 420 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. The source also notes that a surround-view camera system and an improved reversing camera would be helpful.
• Infotainment: Sport uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, and two USB ports. Performance, Heritage Edition, and Nismo upgrade to a 9-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, NissanConnect Services with Wi-Fi hotspot access, navigation, and an eight-speaker Bose premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Nissan says the twin-turbo V6 should return between 19 mpg and 22 mpg in combined driving, and the test car returned 20 mpg on the EPA rating with 21.4 mpg observed on the evaluation loop.

Which 2026 Nissan Z trim should I buy?

The 2026 Nissan Z is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, Performance, Heritage Edition, and Nismo.

Here’s the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Z experience with the twin-turbo V6, rear-wheel drive, and the basic infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the car, but it skips the extra hardware and tech upgrades found higher up.
• Performance: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the mechanical limited-slip differential, performance brakes, 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, and SynchroRev Match for the manual transmission. It also brings the larger 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot access, and the Bose audio system.
• Heritage Edition: Choose this if you care most about style and exclusivity. It builds on Performance and adds Midnight Purple paint, bronze Rays wheels, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, retro graphics, and unique interior touches.
• Nismo: This is the most focused version, with chassis bracing, revised steering, upgraded brakes, exclusive suspension tuning, wider rear wheels, and high-performance summer tires. It’s the right pick if you want the most aggressive factory setup.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up a trim to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is the 2026 Nissan Z safe?

The 2026 Nissan Z has not been crash tested by either NHTSA or IIHS at the time of writing.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan equips the Z with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. The system is well matched to the car’s mission, though the source notes that a surround-view camera system and a better reversing camera would be helpful.

There is also a small caveat: the lane-departure warnings can be intermittently inaccurate.

Should I buy a 2026 Nissan Z or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2026 Nissan Z is much more powerful and technologically advanced than its forebears, and the Heritage Edition adds especially compelling visual flair.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of this classic rear-drive sports coupe, the 2026 model is the one to target, especially if the Heritage Edition’s styling speaks to you. If you’re more price-sensitive, a lower-trim example can still deliver the core Z experience, but you’ll want to shop carefully for condition and equipment.
