New & Used 2026 Nissan Z for Sale near Cross State, NE

Is the 2026 Nissan Z a good car?

The 2026 Nissan Z earns a 6.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It is a two-seat coupe with a liftback design, a six-cylinder engine, and rear-wheel drive, and it brings a classic sports-car formula into a modern package. It also stands out in a segment with no direct competition, which helps give it a distinctive identity. The trade-offs are clear: it is based on the previous-generation 370Z, and the steering, seats, and technology are all weak points.

The 2026 Nissan Z is a compelling choice if you want a sports car with real character, strong power, and available manual shifting, but you should expect some old-school rough edges. Good and great deals account for 33.6% of listings, which suggests there is at least some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Nissan Z reliable?

The 2026 Nissan Z is presented as a straightforward sports car with a simple formula: a twin-turbo V6, rear-wheel drive, and a driver-focused setup. That simplicity can be a plus for long-term ownership because there is less complexity than you might find in more elaborate performance cars.

The performance side is strong, with the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 delivering substantial power and the manual transmission’s SynchroRev Match adding a useful layer of drivability. The cost-effectiveness notes also frame the Z as an authentic, high-power sports car rather than a luxury-tech showcase, which fits its more mechanical character.

If you buy one used, your long-term ownership risk is mostly tied to its age, its rougher ride, and the fact that some of its cabin and control hardware already feels dated.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Nissan Z?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s condition matches its mileage and asking price. Pay close attention to the steering feel, seat comfort, and the condition of the infotainment and control interfaces, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction. If you are considering a higher-trim car, make sure the added equipment is actually present and functioning as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport, Performance, Heritage Edition, and Nismo trims give you a clear ladder of equipment. The base trim is the most stripped-down version, while the Heritage Edition adds Midnight Purple paint, bronze 19-inch Rays forged aluminum wheels, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, retro-inspired graphics, special floor mats, and unique door kick plates. The Nismo is the most aggressive version, with chassis bracing, revised steering, upgraded brakes, exclusive suspension tuning, wider rear wheels, and high-performance summer tires.
• Powertrain: Every Z uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, while the Nismo raises output to 420 hp and 384 lb-ft. You can get a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic, and the engine requires premium gas.
• Safety package: The Z includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. The safety content also notes that a surround-view camera system and an improved reversing camera would be helpful.
• Infotainment: The Sport trim has an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, and two USB ports. The Performance, Heritage Edition, and Nismo upgrade to a 9-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, NissanConnect Services with Wi-Fi hotspot access, navigation, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Nissan says the twin-turbo V6 should return between 19 mpg and 22 mpg in combined driving, and the test car was rated at 20 mpg.

Which 2026 Nissan Z trim should I buy?

The 2026 Nissan Z is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, Performance, Heritage Edition, and Nismo.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Z experience with the twin-turbo V6, manual or automatic transmission, and the standard 8-inch infotainment screen. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the car and do not need the extra convenience and tech upgrades.
• Performance: This is the best-value trim because it adds the mechanical limited-slip differential, performance brakes, 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, SynchroRev Match for the manual, and the larger 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Bose audio. If you want the most rounded version of the Z, this is the one to target.
• Heritage Edition: This trim is for you if style and exclusivity matter most. It is based on the Performance trim and adds the Midnight Purple paint, bronze wheels, carbon-fiber rear spoiler, retro graphics, and unique interior touches.
• Nismo: This is the most serious performance version, with chassis bracing, revised steering, upgraded brakes, exclusive suspension tuning, wider rear wheels, and sticky summer tires. It suits you if you want the most track-focused Z.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but the safety content notes that a surround-view camera system and an improved reversing camera would still be welcome.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan equips the Z with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. The systems generally worked as expected, though the safety content notes intermittently inaccurate lane-departure warnings. A surround-view camera system and an improved reversing camera would be helpful additions.

Should I buy a 2026 Nissan Z or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2026 model stands out for the new Heritage Edition, which adds Midnight Purple paint, bronze wheels, and retro graphics and badges.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Z with the Heritage Edition’s added personality, the 2026 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still deliver the same core Z formula with a lower asking price, so it is worth comparing listings before you commit.
