New & Used 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class for Sale nearSebring, FL

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class a good car?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class earns a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It’s a luxurious convertible that blends performance and comfort, and Mercedes positions it as part of a long-running nameplate tradition while also expanding the lineup with the ultra-luxury Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series. That gives you a broad range of personalities, from grand-touring refinement to serious straight-line speed.

The main trade-offs are the irritating transmission and the lack of physical controls, which can make everyday use less satisfying than the SL’s style and power suggest. Even so, if you want a high-end roadster with strong presence and multiple powertrain choices, the SL makes a compelling case.

With 33.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class reliable?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is presented as a luxurious convertible that’s easy to live with, and its performance tuning is described as strong and composed. The Maybach SL 680 version is tuned for extra ride comfort, with softer springs and special damper valves that help it erase bumps and road imperfections while still maintaining excellent body control.

Mercedes also gives you a broad powertrain lineup, which can matter for long-term satisfaction because you can choose the version that best matches how you plan to use the car. The standard maintenance perk language isn’t stated here, but the overall setup suggests a car built more for refinement than for constant compromise.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that a complex luxury convertible can be expensive to keep feeling right if you’re sensitive to drivability quirks or want a simpler cabin experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 100% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with clean inventory, you should still run a history report and inspect the car carefully, especially because this is a high-end convertible with a lot of technology and multiple powertrain choices. Pay close attention to how the transmission behaves at low speeds, whether the controls feel intuitive to you, and whether the cabin materials and trim match the condition you expect at this price point.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans SL 43, SL 55, SL 63, SL 63 S E Performance, and Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series. The base SL 43 is the least expensive way in, while the Maybach model adds the most luxury flair and exclusive detailing.
• Powertrain: The SL 43 uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with 416 horsepower, while the other versions move up to V8 power, and the SL 63 S E Performance adds a plug-in hybrid system for 805 horsepower. The lineup is built around a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, blind spot monitors, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, parking assist, Pre-Safe, and a surround-view camera. Adaptive cruise control is optional, and it adds stop-and-go functionality plus automatic speed-limit adjustment.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch touchscreen, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and natural-language voice recognition. Optional upgrades include a head-up display, dashcam, and augmented reality navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The SL 43 is rated at 22 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 27 mpg highway). The V8 models are rated at 16 mpg combined, with 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.

Which 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is offered in 5 trim levels: SL 43, SL 55, SL 63, SL 63 S E Performance, and Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series.

Here's the short version:

• SL 43: This is the entry point and the only version that significantly undercuts the rest of the lineup on price. It gives you the SL experience with the turbo-four and the best fuel economy in the range, so it’s the trim to consider if you want the badge and style without jumping deep into six-figure territory.
• SL 55: This is the first V8 model and a strong step up if you want more power and all-wheel drive without going all the way to the most extreme versions. It’s the sensible upgrade for buyers who want the classic SL formula with more muscle.
• SL 63: This is the more serious performance V8 choice, with more horsepower than the SL 55 and a sharper focus on speed. It suits you if you want the strongest non-hybrid performance without moving into plug-in hybrid territory.
• SL 63 S E Performance: This is the top performance model, with 805 horsepower, a different AWD system, carbon-ceramic brakes, rear-axle steering, and an active anti-roll system. It’s the one to buy if outright performance is your priority.
• Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series: This is the best-value pick in the lineup if you want the most luxurious version. It layers on Maybach-specific comfort tuning and exclusive design details, and the data suggests it delivers a lot of the ultra-luxury experience without requiring a long options list.

Standard safety equipment is strong across the lineup, while adaptive cruise control remains optional.

Should I buy a 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 100% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2026 lineup adds the ultra-luxury Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, giving you a new top-end choice with a more refined comfort focus.

The bottom line: If you want the newest SL with the broadest lineup and the added appeal of the Maybach model, the 2026 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, especially if you’re focused on getting into the SL experience at a lower cost.
