New & Used 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE for Sale nearErie, PA

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE a good car?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE earns a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It’s a strong fit if you want a premium coupe or convertible that feels upscale and stylish without trying to be the most extravagant Mercedes two-door. The CLE’s appeal comes from its sleek design, easy-to-use technology, and the way the AMG 53 version adds serious power and sharper handling while staying a grand tourer rather than a hardcore track car.

The trade-offs are clear: not much cargo space and premium pricing. It also doesn’t try to be the cheapest way into the segment, so you’re paying for the experience as much as the hardware.

With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE reliable?

The CLE is presented as a well-equipped, premium model that should perform well in a collision, and the expert evaluation points to a solid overall package rather than any obvious durability red flags. Its performance hardware is substantial, but the powertrain and chassis setup are described as smooth, composed, and well integrated for everyday use.

The performance content also emphasizes smooth power delivery, a well-matched nine-speed automatic, and a chassis that balances ride and handling well. That kind of tuning usually matters for long-term satisfaction because it suggests the car is engineered to feel refined rather than strained.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium complexity and high-end parts can make repairs and upkeep more expensive than on a simpler coupe or convertible.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a premium coupe or convertible where repair costs can climb quickly. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear in the cabin, and whether the car has the equipment you want, since some recommended driver-assist features are not standard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The AMG 53 stands out for its wider stance, larger wheels, sportier cabin details, and more aggressive appearance, while the base setup is less richly equipped in the areas that matter most to the experience.
• Powertrain: The AMG 53 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 443 horsepower, a 48-volt starter-generator, and all-wheel drive, giving you strong acceleration and smooth delivery.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist, a driver-attention monitor, automatic parking, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, an exit warning system, and a surround-view camera system. The Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitors, intersection assist, automatic lane-change capability, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation with map updates and live traffic, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, and MBUX voice control.
• Fuel efficiency: The coupe is rated at 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined, while the convertible is rated at 19/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined.

Which 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE is offered in 3 trim levels: CLE 300 4Matic, CLE 450 4Matic, AMG CLE 53.

Here's the short version:

• CLE 300 4Matic: This is the value-oriented choice if you want the CLE’s style and premium feel at the lowest entry point. It’s the trim to consider if you care more about the look and everyday usability than maximum performance.
• CLE 450 4Matic: This is the middle ground for buyers who want more power and a stronger all-around experience without jumping to AMG pricing. It should be the best fit if you want a balanced luxury coupe or convertible.
• AMG CLE 53: This is the one to buy if you want the most complete version of the CLE experience. It adds the strongest performance, the sharpest handling, and the most distinctive AMG character, and it’s the best-value trim if you care most about driving enjoyment.

Some recommended driver-assist features are not standard, so check whether the car you’re considering has the safety package you want.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

A decent amount of safety features are standard, including forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist, a driver-attention monitor, automatic parking, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, an exit warning system, and a surround-view camera system. The Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitors, intersection assist, automatic lane-change capability, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist.

There are no crash-test results for the CLE, and true hands-free highway driving capability isn’t available. That makes the optional safety package worth checking closely on any used example.

Should I buy a 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The AMG 53 delivers strong power, sharp handling, and a refined grand-touring feel.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a broader trim lineup and a strong mix of style, luxury, and performance.

The bottom line: Choose the 2026 if you want the CLE’s polished design, strong performance, and premium feel in a current-year package. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth a look because it still delivers the same basic formula with a broader range of choices.
