New & Used 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE for Sale nearBloomington, IL

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE a good car?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE earns a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It fits Mercedes’ consolidated coupe-and-convertible formula well: you get a premium, stylish two-door that aims to feel upscale without trying to be the brand’s most extravagant option. The CLE also delivers strong performance across the range, and the AMG 53 version adds sharper handling while still behaving like a grand tourer rather than a hardcore track car.

The trade-offs are clear: cargo space is limited, pricing is premium, and some recommended driver-assist features are not standard.

With 39.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful amount of market choice if you’re shopping selectively.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE reliable?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE is presented as a well-equipped, premium two-door with a strong feature set and no crash-test results listed. Its expert coverage emphasizes solid performance, a refined structure, and a car that feels composed in everyday use and on longer drives.

The performance tuning points to a durable grand-touring character rather than a stressed, track-focused setup, and the available maintenance perk language suggests some ownership convenience when you choose the right package or trim.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium complexity and premium pricing can make repairs and upkeep more expensive than you’d expect from a mainstream coupe or convertible.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report, verify service records, and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or a car with optional equipment. Focus on condition details that matter in a premium coupe or convertible: interior wear, wheel and tire condition, and whether the car’s features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CLE 53 lineup emphasizes a low, sleek design with wider fenders, bigger wheels, and a more planted stance, while the Cabriolet adds a power cloth soft top that opens or closes in 20 seconds at speeds up to 37 mph. The cabin mixes luxury and sportiness with a chunky AMG steering wheel, aluminum pedals, sport bucket seats, and available upscale trim materials, but harder plastics appear lower in the cabin.
• Powertrain: The CLE 53 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 443 horsepower, a 48-volt starter-generator, and 4Matic+ all-wheel drive. It delivers immediate acceleration, a 0–60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, and an optional quicker launch-control setup with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist, a driver-attention monitor, automatic parking, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, an exit warning system, and a surround-view camera system. The Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitors, intersection assist, automatic lane-change capability, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation with a year of map updates and live traffic information, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, and MBUX voice control.
• Fuel efficiency: The coupe is EPA-rated at 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined, while the convertible is rated at 19/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined.

Which 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE is offered in 3 trim levels: CLE 300 4Matic, CLE 450 4Matic, CLE 53.

Here's the short version:

• CLE 300 4Matic: This is the value-oriented choice if you want the CLE’s style and premium feel at the lowest starting point. It makes the most sense for buyers who care more about the coupe or convertible experience than maximum performance.
• CLE 450 4Matic: This is the middle-ground pick if you want more power and a stronger all-around balance without jumping all the way to AMG pricing. It should suit you if you want a more upscale performance feel than the 300 4Matic.
• CLE 53: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest performance and the most complete enthusiast character. It adds the meaner look, quicker acceleration, and sharper handling that define the CLE’s top personality.

The safety package note is simple: some recommended driver-assist features are not standard, so you should pay close attention to whether a used example has the Driver Assistance Package.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE safe?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE has no crash-test results listed, but it comes with a solid standard safety suite and additional available driver-assistance tech. It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist, a driver-attention monitor, automatic parking, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, an exit warning system, and a surround-view camera system. The Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitors, intersection assist, automatic lane-change capability, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist.

A key caveat is that some recommended driver-assist features are not standard, and true hands-free highway driving capability isn’t available.

Should I buy a 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It consolidates Mercedes’ two-door lineup into a stylish, premium coupe-and-convertible package with strong performance and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers three distinct trims and a compelling mix of style, acceleration, and luxury features.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of Mercedes’ consolidated two-door formula, the 2026 CLE is the cleaner target. If you’re shopping with a tighter budget, the 2025 can still give you the same basic appeal with a strong premium-coupe personality.
