New & Used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport for Sale nearIthaca, NY

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns an expert rating of 7/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

It is aimed at you if you want a luxury SUV that leans hard into style, presence, and exclusivity, with tasteful, elegant design and performance that Land Rover describes as impeccable on any surface. The tested SV Carbon version pushes that idea even further, with extreme capability and a price that puts it in rarefied company.

The trade-offs are real: you give up physical controls for critical functions, and the interior uses cheaper materials than the last generation. Even so, if you want a highly individualized premium SUV with serious performance credentials, this one makes a strong case for itself.

36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is at least some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is described as a vehicle with poor reliability, and that concern is part of its overall appeal trade-off. Its performance hardware is substantial, with a mild-hybrid setup, standard 4WD, locking differentials, and adaptive dampers and air springs that add capability and complexity.

Land Rover also emphasizes that the gas-only trims use a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to reduce engine load and support seamless stops and restarts. The brand’s own description points to a sophisticated drivetrain and chassis setup, which can be a plus for refinement and capability but also raises the stakes for long-term ownership.

If you buy used, the main long-term risk is that this is the kind of SUV where complexity can make ownership more expensive and less predictable.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report, verify service records, and prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a vehicle with this much performance and chassis complexity. Focus on the condition of the suspension, brakes, tires, and interior controls, since those are the kinds of areas where wear or prior use can matter most.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin design is elegant, but the base setup lacks the more luxurious woods and metals you may expect, and the interior is notably stripped of physical controls for key functions.
• Powertrain: Gas-only trims use a mild-hybrid 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 355 horsepower, while higher-output versions add more power and the lineup also includes a plug-in hybrid and a V8.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver-attention monitor. There are no safety option packages on higher trims.
• Infotainment: The 13.1-inch display supports Apple CarPlay in full screen, and the factory navigation and audio interface are strong points. The instrument panel is configurable, and the surround-view cameras are very clear.
• Fuel efficiency: The base six-cylinder powertrain is EPA-rated at 22 mpg combined with 20 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. The V8 drops to 19 mpg combined with 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway, while plug-in hybrids offer 21 mpg combined when the battery is depleted.

Which 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 6 trim levels: SE, Dynamic SE, Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid, Battersea Edition, Twenty Edition, Autobiography.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Range Rover Sport experience with the standard six-cylinder mild-hybrid setup, full-time 4WD, and the brand’s signature chassis hardware. It is the trim to consider if you want the least expensive way into the lineup.
• Dynamic SE: This trim adds more output and a stronger performance focus, making it the best-value choice if you want a noticeable step up without jumping into the most expensive versions.
• Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid powertrain and the ability to drive on electricity for short trips. It is the right fit if efficiency and flexibility matter more than outright simplicity.
• Battersea Edition: This trim pairs the plug-in hybrid system with a more special-edition feel, so it suits you if you want the electrified setup with extra exclusivity.
• Twenty Edition: This is the trim to look at if you want the available V8 and a more premium, celebratory take on the Range Rover Sport formula.
• Autobiography: This is the upscale V8 choice for buyers who want the strongest luxury emphasis and are willing to pay for it.

There are no safety option packages on higher trims.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver-attention monitor.
