New & Used 2026 Kia EV9 for Sale nearPhoenix, AZ

Is the 2026 Kia EV9 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Kia EV9 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

It stands out as a three-row electric SUV that blends practicality with a distinctive design and a strong technology focus. For you, that means a roomy, comfortable, safe, and well-equipped EV that feels especially compelling if you want usable range and quick charging in a midsize three-row package.

The main trade-offs are its high sticker price and the fact that certain Highway Driving Assist behaviors can be intrusive. The steering wheel also blocks the climate system display, which can be annoying in daily use.

With 34.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s at least some market opportunity if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2026 Kia EV9 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The EV9 is presented as a roomy, comfortable, and well-equipped electric SUV with a strong technology focus, and its performance notes point to a solid, refined driving experience. It also has a fast-charging setup and a modern 800-volt architecture, which supports the kind of day-to-day usability that matters in long-term ownership.

The performance write-up also suggests the EV9 is built to handle regular use well, with strong structural rigidity, a comfortable ride, and responsive electric motors in city driving. On the cost side, the EV9’s charging economics are better when you can rely on home charging, which is a useful ownership advantage.

If you buy used, your biggest long-term risk is the usual EV diligence: make sure the battery and charging behavior are healthy, and confirm the vehicle has been maintained and charged in a way that fits your ownership plans.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Kia EV9?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a used EV with advanced driver-assistance tech and multiple charging systems. Focus on overall condition, charging performance, and whether the cabin tech and safety systems behave as expected in real-world use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Light, Wind, Land, and GT-Line are the trims explicitly named here. The base setup is the single-motor rear-wheel-drive Light, while the other trims move to dual-motor all-wheel drive and add more equipment as you go up the range.
• Powertrain: The EV9 Light uses a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup, while other trims use a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration. Output is strongest in the GT-Line, which delivers 379 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: The EV9 includes forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking with intersection braking assistance, front cross-traffic braking assistance, and oncoming collision mitigation. Evasive steering assist is standard, and blind-spot monitors include steering assistance. Higher trims add a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and low-speed braking for parking.
• Infotainment: You get triple screens, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus wireless smartphone charging and over-the-air-connected Kia services. The climate display is partly blocked by the steering wheel, so check visibility during a test drive.
• Range & charging: The EV9 offers a standard-range 76.1-kWh battery and a long-range 99.8-kWh battery, with up to 305 miles of range. DC fast charging can reach up to 350 kilowatts, and Kia says a 10% to 80% recharge can take 24 minutes.
• Battery health: Ask for battery state-of-health information if available, review charging habits, and confirm whether the vehicle has mostly been charged at home or relied heavily on DC fast charging. Also check how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection you still have.

Which 2026 Kia EV9 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Kia EV9 is offered in 4 trim levels: Light, Wind, Land, and GT-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Light: This is the trim to consider if you want the EV9’s core three-row EV experience at the lowest entry point. It’s the only trim with the single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup, and it can be had with either the standard-range or long-range battery.
• Wind: This is the step-up choice if you want the dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup without jumping all the way to the top trim. It should suit you if you want a more complete EV9 experience while staying below the most expensive versions.
• Land: This is the trim to target if you want a more upscale balance of equipment and capability. It sits in the middle of the lineup and is a strong candidate if you want more content without paying GT-Line money.
• GT-Line: This is the most feature-rich version and the one that best showcases the EV9’s tech and performance. It adds the strongest powertrain figures, a 12-inch head-up display, and upscale interior touches, so it’s the best fit if you want the most complete EV9 experience.

The safety package is especially strong across the lineup, with advanced collision-avoidance and Highway Driving Assist features standard, while higher trims add more camera-based convenience tech.

The 2026 Kia EV9 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, and it earned the highest Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The EV9’s standard safety suite is extensive. It includes forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking with intersection braking assistance, front cross-traffic braking assistance, and oncoming collision mitigation. Evasive steering assist is standard, and the blind-spot monitors include steering assistance to help prevent unsafe lane changes.

Highway Driving Assist is standard as well, pairing adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist and lane-change assist. That said, the system’s behavior can be inconsistent, and the speed-management functions did not always act as expected in testing.

Higher trims add a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and low-speed braking for parking. Remote Smart Parking Assist is also available.

Should I buy a 2026 Kia EV9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year: Kia adds a longer range, a Nightfall Edition package, fresh colors, and a new Terrain driving mode.

The bottom line: If you want the EV9 with the latest updates and strong overall capability, the 2026 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop nearby model years and focus on the best-equipped, best-priced example with a clean history and healthy battery condition.
