New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearChillicothe, OH

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado earns an expert rating of 6.67/10. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It makes the strongest case for you if you want a straightforward midsize truck lineup: the Colorado sticks to a crew-cab, short-bed body style, one powertrain, and rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. That simplicity makes it easier to shop than rivals with more complicated configurations. It also brings stylish design and easy-to-use technology, which help offset some of its shortcomings.

The trade-offs are real, though. The Colorado’s fuel economy is poor, the cabin materials feel cheap, and the ergonomic design is weak. Even so, if you value a polished look, approachable tech, and a clear trim structure, it remains an appealing midsize truck.

35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still meaningful market availability for shoppers who want to compare options.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is presented as a simple, mostly unchanged truck with one powertrain and a limited configuration range, which can make ownership easier to understand. Its turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine and eight-speed automatic are the only mechanical setup, and the truck’s straightforward lineup may appeal if you want fewer variables to manage over time.

The expert evaluation also notes that the Colorado offers good potential value, but its unimpressive gas mileage and poor safety ratings undercut that appeal. The cost-effectiveness discussion adds that Chevrolet includes one free service visit, which is a small ownership perk.

Long-term ownership risk for used buyers is still tied to the truck’s poor fuel economy and the possibility that its value proposition may feel weaker than its rivals over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a truck that has seen off-road use or heavy towing. Focus on overall condition, because the Colorado’s cabin materials and ergonomic execution are already a weak point, and hard use can make those issues more noticeable.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT forms the foundation, the LT serves as the basis of the Z71, and the Trail Boss and ZR2 add off-road capability and extra hardware. The base setup is simpler, while higher trims bring more features and more specialized capability.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, and RWD models return up to 21 mpg in combined city and highway driving.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. The Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Wireless smartphone charging is available, and certain trims add front and rear USB ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck returns up to 21 mpg in combined city and highway driving in RWD form, and the Trail Boss test vehicle averaged 17.5 mpg during evaluation.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value-focused starting point, and it makes the Colorado’s basic formula accessible without overcomplicating the lineup. It suits you best if you want the simplest path into the truck and plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• LT: This trim is the basis for the Z71, so it’s the logical step up if you want a more polished starting point before moving into more specialized versions. It’s the trim to watch if you want a balanced mix of everyday usability and upgrade potential.
• Trail Boss: This is the best-value choice for buyers who want off-road flavor and capability without jumping all the way to the top of the range. It adds an off-road-tuned suspension, a two-inch factory lift, wider stance, all-terrain tires, Off-Road and Terrain driving modes, and hill descent control.
• Z71: This trim builds on the LT and is the more traditional upgrade path if you want a better-equipped Colorado without going full off-road specialist. It’s a sensible middle ground if you want more equipment and a more upscale feel than the WT.
• ZR2: This is the most serious off-road model in the lineup, with 33-inch mud-terrain tires and Multimatic DSSV dampers. Choose it if off-road hardware matters more to you than everyday comfort or value.

The Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, so it’s worth prioritizing if you want broader driver-assistance coverage.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Choose the 2026 if: Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

• Choose the 2026 if: It keeps the lineup simple with one powertrain, a crew-cab short-bed body, and easy-to-use tech.

• Consider the 2025 if: It emphasizes off-pavement performance and a powerful standard turbocharged engine.

The bottom line: If you want the simpler, more current-feeling choice with strong tech and a clear trim structure, the 2026 is the better default. If you’re shopping mainly for off-road focus and want to compare pricing carefully, the 2025 is still worth a look.
