New & Used 2026 Audi A6 for Sale nearFairview Heights, IL

Is the 2026 Audi A6 a good car?

The 2026 Audi A6 earns a 7/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.

Audi positions this redesigned A6 as a fresh take on its midsize luxury sedan formula, and the data backs up that broad mission: you get a powerful standard engine, standard all-wheel drive, and a spacious cabin. That makes it a strong fit if you want a luxury sedan that emphasizes comfort, traction, and everyday usefulness.

The trade-offs are just as clear. The interior materials are described as unimpressive, and the driving experience is called unrefined, so the premium feel doesn’t fully match the price or the badge. Even so, the A6’s overall package is compelling if you value capability and comfort over polish.

33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there’s meaningful market availability if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2026 Audi A6 reliable?

The 2026 Audi A6 is presented as a new-generation model with a familiar luxury-sedan mission, and the expert data emphasizes a strong mechanical foundation rather than any obvious durability red flags. Its turbocharged V6, standard quattro all-wheel drive, and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission give it a straightforward performance setup for the class.

Audi also backs the car with a four-year/50,000-mile warranty, which helps support ownership confidence early on. The expert notes that the A6 covers the bases well as a single model, and the powertrain is described as compelling.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is a first-year redesign, so you should expect some early-model growing pains rather than a fully sorted, proven ownership experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Audi A6?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 99.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially because this is a first-year redesign. Pay close attention to interior condition, infotainment behavior, and how the car drives at low speeds and over rough pavement, since those are the areas where the expert data points to the biggest concerns.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A6 is available in Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trim levels. The base Premium gets the core luxury-sedan formula, but the Premium Plus and Prestige add more convenience and driver-assistance equipment, including a park-assist system, adaptive cruise assist, and a 360-degree camera system. The Prestige also opens the door to more upscale appearance and chassis options, but the base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more standard tech.
• Powertrain: Every 2026 A6 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and standard quattro all-wheel drive. The setup is quick and strong, but the transmission can hesitate from a stop under heavy throttle.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitors, traffic-sign recognition, parking sensors, and lane-departure warning. Adaptive cruise assist, park assist, and a 360-degree camera system are standard on Premium Plus and Prestige, so the base trim misses some of the more helpful convenience features.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.5-inch touchscreen, plus standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An optional 10.9-inch front-passenger touchscreen is available, and Audi says an updated interface will arrive later in the model year.
• Fuel efficiency: The A6 is rated at 23 mpg combined (20 mpg city, 29 mpg highway), and the expert test drive returned 22 mpg on a mixed route.

Which 2026 Audi A6 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Audi A6 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core A6 experience: the V6, standard quattro all-wheel drive, and the full-size luxury-sedan footprint. It makes sense if you want the powertrain and basic comfort without stretching for extras, but it’s the least equipped version for driver-assistance convenience.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the useful stuff you’re most likely to notice every day, including adaptive cruise assist, park assist, and a 360-degree camera system. If you want the A6 to feel properly loaded without chasing the highest sticker price, this is the one to target.
• Prestige: This is the most upscale version, and it’s the trim to consider if you want the most available comfort and chassis hardware. It can also be paired with the Sport Plus Package, which adds sport rear differential hardware, rear-axle steering, and a lower ride height, though that package trades away some ride comfort.

The safety package is strongest on Premium Plus and Prestige, since those trims add adaptive cruise assist, park assist, and a 360-degree camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Audi A6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

Is the 2026 Audi A6 safe?

The A6 comes standard with the expected array of driver-assist features, including adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitors, traffic-sign recognition, parking sensors, and lane-departure warning. A park-assist system, adaptive cruise assist, and a 360-degree camera system are also standard on the Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Audi doesn’t offer a hands-free driving system, and the lane-centering feature was described as allowing the car to wobble within the lane more than you’d want. That means the tech is useful, but you should still treat it as a driver aid rather than a substitute for attention.

Should I buy a 2026 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 99.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The redesigned model brings a more powerful standard engine, standard all-wheel drive, and a broader, more premium-feeling equipment list.

The bottom line: If you want the newest gasoline A6 with the strongest standard powertrain and the most up-to-date hardware, the 2026 is the one to focus on. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, especially if you’re willing to trade away some of the redesign’s added equipment and performance.
