Used 2025 Volkswagen Jetta for Sale nearRoswell, NM

How much does the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta cost?

Prices have softened 9.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,427 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It’s a strong fit if you want a compact sedan that emphasizes passenger space, a large trunk, and everyday livability without losing its fun-to-drive character. The refreshed styling, improved interior, upgraded handling, and added standard technology make it feel more polished than its price suggests.

The main trade-offs are frustrating controls, no hybrid option, and no all-wheel drive. Even so, 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Jetta’s sensible German design and engineering are part of its appeal, and the expert review also points to a roomy, comfortable interior and a big trunk as signs of a well-rounded ownership experience. Its fuel-efficient turbocharged engine and standard scheduled-service coverage add to the case for low-stress daily use.

The performance notes also support confidence: the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine delivers useful low-rpm torque, and the car’s firmer suspension tuning helps it feel more settled and rewarding than before. VW’s complimentary scheduled service coverage for two years or 20,000 miles is a helpful ownership perk.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is that the car’s appeal depends on staying on top of maintenance and avoiding examples that have been neglected or poorly treated.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Volkswagen Jetta?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status doesn’t replace a proper inspection. Prioritize the condition of the controls, infotainment, and climate system, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction. It’s also smart to confirm that the car’s equipment matches the trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard Jetta lineup includes S, Sport, SE, and SEL. The base S is the least equipped, while the Sport adds a lowered, sport-tuned suspension that improves driving feel. The SEL brings a more upscale cabin with leather upholstery, ambient interior lighting, upgraded digital instrumentation, and additional comfort features.
• Powertrain: Every standard Jetta uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s tuned for efficiency and everyday punch rather than outright speed, and all-wheel drive is not available.
• Safety package: Every 2025 Jetta gets IQ.Drive, Volkswagen’s driver-assistance suite. It includes blind-spot monitoring with active collision avoidance and Lane Assist with Emergency Assist. The system is competitive, but the base setup still leaves the Jetta short of segment-leading safety credentials.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch digital instrument panel. The S and Sport include Bluetooth, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Car-Net connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The SE adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, wireless charging, and voice recognition, while the SEL upgrades to a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro display plus navigation and eight Beats Audio speakers.
• Fuel efficiency: The Jetta is rated at 33 mpg in combined driving, and testing returned 31.8 mpg. Highway driving can reach as much as 38 mpg.

Which 2025 Volkswagen Jetta trim should I buy?

The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta is offered in 4 trim levels: S, Sport, SE, and SEL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Jetta’s roomy cabin, turbocharged engine, and standard safety and tech features. It’s the trim to choose if value matters most and you’re comfortable with the simplest setup.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the lowered, sport-tuned suspension that improves the Jetta’s driving character without pushing the price into the upper end of the lineup. If you want the most engaging standard Jetta experience, this is the one to focus on.
• SE: This is the smart upgrade if you want a more modern tech experience, since it adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, SiriusXM, and voice recognition. It’s a good middle ground if convenience matters more than the sportier chassis tuning.
• SEL: This is the most upscale standard Jetta, with the 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro display, navigation, Beats Audio, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and extra comfort features. Choose it if you want the most premium-feeling Jetta and are willing to pay for it.

IQ.Drive is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up a trim just to get Volkswagen’s driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volkswagen Jetta?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,427 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.25% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,030, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

The current average of $20,030 sits slightly below last year's $22,072.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than on broad market appreciation.

The Jetta’s practical strengths can still support demand over time, especially if you choose a well-kept example with desirable equipment. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta safe?

The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and Good ratings in the IIHS small overlap front crash test and original versions of the moderate overlap front and side-impact tests, but it received an Acceptable rating in the updated side crash test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Volkswagen equips every 2025 Jetta with IQ.Drive, its driver-assistance suite. Standard features include blind-spot monitoring with active collision avoidance, Lane Assist, and Emergency Assist, which can bring the car to a safe stop and activate the hazard lights if the driver becomes unresponsive while lane-centering is active.

The main caveat is that the Jetta is not a segment leader in safety ratings, and the updated side crash result is a reminder that its safety performance is good but not class-leading.

Should I buy a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year brings refreshed styling, an improved interior, upgraded handling, and more standard technology.

The bottom line: If you want the most polished version of this Jetta generation, the 2025 model is the one to target because it adds meaningful updates without losing the car’s space, efficiency, and everyday usability. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2025’s improvements make it the better all-around pick for most shoppers.
