How much does the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser cost?

Prices have softened 1.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,020 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It is built for traveling almost anywhere at almost any time, with a rugged identity that favors capability over maximum fuel savings. The expert review also highlights its stylish design and easy-to-use technology, while noting that it still commands a premium over primary rivals.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy and poor handling, along with an uncomfortable back seat. Even so, if you want a two-row midsize SUV with strong off-road intent and a more refined feel than some hardcore alternatives, it fits that brief well.

The market shows 35.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Land Cruiser is described as a rugged SUV with a turbocharged hybrid powertrain that is better at supplying power than efficiency. The expert review also notes that Toyota includes two years or 25,000 miles of complimentary scheduled service, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

Toyota’s powertrain and off-road hardware are presented as durable, confidence-inspiring pieces of the package, and the SUV’s overall mission is clearly centered on toughness and capability. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is not basic dependability so much as living with its fuel use and the premium it can command.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the SUV has seen trail use or heavy city mileage. Focus on overall condition, because this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well its rugged hardware and cabin have been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 1958 trim has a retro look, cloth seats, basic equipment, and one of three paint colors, while the Land Cruiser trim adds a more modern, upscale look, more colors, a nicer interior with larger screens, and critical off-roading hardware and software.
• Powertrain: Every Land Cruiser uses Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid system with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is tuned more for power than efficiency, and the real-world fuel economy was notably weak.
• Safety package: Every model includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian, cyclist, and motorcyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, road sign reader, automatic high-beam headlights, and Predictive Driving Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are separate from the suite, and Premium Package upgrades add front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: The Land Cruiser trim upgrades to dual 12.3-inch displays, and the Toyota Audio Multimedia system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and access to Apple Music and Amazon Music accounts. Drive Connect adds cloud-based navigation and a conversational digital assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating is 23 mpg combined, but the test vehicle averaged 15.7 mpg in real-world driving.

Which 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser is offered in 2 trim levels: 1958, Land Cruiser.

Here's the short version:

• 1958: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Land Cruiser’s core rugged identity at a lower price. You get the retro styling, cloth seats, basic equipment, and standard off-road hardware, but you give up the nicer cabin, larger screens, and added trail tech found in the higher trim.
• Land Cruiser: This is the best-value trim if you want the version most aligned with the SUV’s full personality. It adds the more modern and upscale interior, dual 12.3-inch displays, more colors, and critical off-roading hardware and software, making it the trim most buyers should target.

The Premium Package adds leather and more tech, and it also brings safety upgrades such as front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,020 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $61,684, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser's resale value?

The current average of $61,709 sits slightly below last year's $62,588.

That modest decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means the Land Cruiser is not in a sharp appreciation cycle, so resale performance will depend more on condition, mileage, and trim than on broad market momentum.

Because the model still carries strong appeal as a rugged, desirable SUV, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than average. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser safe?

The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser earns an overall rating of four stars out of five from NHTSA, receiving four-star ratings in the frontal-impact test, five-star ratings in side-impact testing, and a three-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2025 Land Cruiser includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which bundles forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian, cyclist, and motorcyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a road sign reader, automatic high-beam headlights, and Predictive Driving Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard as separate systems, and Premium Package models add front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.

One caveat is that the lane-centering and adaptive cruise systems did not always behave smoothly in testing, so you may want to be selective about how much you rely on them in daily driving.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 is almost unchanged after the 2024 redesign, so you get the current formula with strong off-road capability and updated tech.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $59,275, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $61,709 average.
• The 2024 is an all-new return of the Land Cruiser with retro styling and strong off-road capability.

The bottom line: If you want the current Land Cruiser formula and are comfortable paying a bit more, the 2025 is the cleaner choice. If your priority is saving money and you’re fine with the earlier version of the same redesign, the 2024 is the smarter value play.

• Cons: Poor fuel economy, Poor handling, Uncomfortable back seat.

2025 Ford Expedition:

• Pros: Powerful engines, Impressive technology.
• Cons: Thirsty engines, Tech requires additional subscription.
