Is the 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander a good car?

The 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander stands out as a spacious, family-focused three-row SUV that prioritizes everyday usefulness over driving excitement. It gives you extra practicality over the regular Highlander without the higher ownership costs and on-road compromises of a bigger rugged SUV, and Toyota’s “adult-sized” third row makes it especially appealing if you need real passenger space.

It also brings plenty of cargo space, a more modern and upmarket cabin than the regular Highlander, and a fuel-efficient four-cylinder-only lineup. Available equipment is generous, with features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a power liftgate, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and available upgrades like a JBL premium audio system, a panoramic roof, and a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor.

38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander reliable?

The 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander is described as a practical, comfortable, and efficient three-row SUV, and Toyota’s reputation for reliability is part of its appeal. It is aimed at buyers who want a roomy people mover with a manageable footprint and strong everyday usability.

That said, the model has also been criticized for some reliability concerns, along with cumbersome handling, cheap-feeling interior materials, and subscription-heavy tech. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth weighing carefully, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for many years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific listing has no accident or title issues. Put inspection priority on condition, especially the interior, electronics, and any signs of prior repair work, since the model has been criticized for some cheap-feeling materials and tech complexity.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $43,624, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $45,086 average.
• It offers strong space and efficiency with two hybrid powertrains.

The 2025 is the better primary pick if you want the newer model-year pricing context and a broad used-market selection. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter secondary path because it delivers similar core utility for less money.
