Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Camry begins a new chapter as the start of its ninth generation, and it does so with a clear focus on the qualities that have long made the nameplate popular. Toyota gives it a new look, new features, and a new hybrid powertrain, while also leaning into the Camry’s reputation for reliability and safety. The result is a midsize sedan that feels current without straying far from the formula that has made it a perennial favorite among families.
What stands out most is how well the 2025 Toyota Camry balances everyday appeal with efficiency. It is described as fuel-efficient and competitively priced, and all-wheel drive is available on every trim. That combination gives it broad usefulness and a strong value proposition, especially for buyers who want a practical sedan with modern tech and styling. The main drawbacks noted are a noisy engine and a finicky voice assistant, but those issues do not overshadow the Camry’s core strengths.
Owners also praise the 2025 Toyota Camry for its smooth ride, exceptional fuel economy, and spacious interior. Some have pointed to the absence of features like power folding mirrors and parking sensors as areas where it could be better equipped, but the overall impression is of a well-rounded sedan that delivers the basics very well.

Good value for a new car considering used prices are a bit crazy right now. Ride is smooth , absorbs bumps and harsh roads are not a problem for this car. I average about 60 miles to and from work everyday and so far I average 52 mpg, most of it is highway miles too. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone.

Bought a 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid yesterday and it seems like a great car. I really like the idea that I can recharge the electric battery just by breaking and letting off of the accelerator. It has a lot of room and it was comparably priced with the Corolla.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, exceptional fuel economy, and spacious interior. They also value its strong price-to-value appeal compared with rising used-car prices.
The main trade-offs are a noisy engine and a finicky voice assistant. In practical terms, that means you get a well-rounded midsize sedan that fits family use and daily commuting well, but you should expect a few refinement compromises.
The Camry’s new generation focus on modern styling, efficiency, and broad usefulness makes it especially appealing if you want a practical sedan with current tech and a strong value proposition. Good and great deals account for 36.6% of listings, which supports a healthy shopping environment.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry reliable?
Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on over time. That lines up with the broader reputation for reliability that buyers expect from this nameplate.
The expert evaluation also emphasizes Toyota’s reliability reputation and the Camry’s long-standing strength in safety and everyday usability. The hybrid powertrain is designed to operate in the background, which supports a low-drama ownership experience.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the core mechanical package and more about finding a well-kept example with no hidden history issues.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re shopping outside the newest or lowest-mileage examples, and pay close attention to interior wear, electronics, and signs of heavy use.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The LE trim gets 16-inch alloy wheels and fabric seating surfaces, while SE adds black 18-inch wheels and SofTex synthetic leather upholstery. XSE brings 19-inch wheels, perforated leather seats, and sporty exterior touches, so the base trim is the most stripped-down choice.
- Powertrain: Every trim uses Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motors. Front-wheel-drive models make 225 horsepower, while all-wheel-drive models make 232 horsepower and are estimated at 50 mpg combined versus 51 for FWD.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. The Premium Plus Package on XLE and XSE adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist.
- Infotainment: The standard setup is an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, five USB ports, and support for two Bluetooth-connected smartphones. Higher trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, with a 10-inch head-up display available on XLE and XSE.
- Fuel efficiency: Toyota estimates 51 mpg combined for front-wheel-drive models and 50 mpg combined for all-wheel-drive models.
Which 2025 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, XSE.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the value-focused starting point, with standard LED headlights, an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and the full Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live without the extra comfort and appearance upgrades.
- SE: This trim adds a sportier look with black 18-inch wheels, front air ducts, rear diffusers, sport-mesh grilles, exposed dual-tip exhausts, and SofTex upholstery. It’s the best-value pick if you want a more upscale feel without jumping to the top end.
- XLE: This trim moves you into a more comfort-oriented setup with black 18-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, available 10-inch head-up display, and available JBL Premium Audio. It suits you best if you want a more premium daily driver.
- XSE: This is the range-topping choice with 19-inch wheels, perforated leather seats, sporty exterior details, and available two-tone paint. It’s the right pick if you want the most style and the richest equipment list.
The Premium Plus Package is available on XLE and XSE, adding front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage but should still move quickly on strong listings.
- Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 9,862 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.58% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 88.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $27,632, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Camry's resale value?
The current average of $29,042 sits slightly below last year's $30,757.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to help you buy more selectively today. For a future seller, that can be a mixed signal: you may not see rapid appreciation, but you’re also buying after some of the initial price pressure has already eased.
Because the Camry remains a high-demand, efficiency-focused sedan, well-kept examples should continue to attract shoppers. Strong condition, clean history, and desirable equipment will matter most when it’s time to resell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry safe?
The 2025 Camry is too new as of this writing to have completed crash testing with independent safety organizations.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. The available Premium Plus Package on XLE and XSE adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist.
The lane-keeping assist system was described as firm but deferential, which is a good sign for everyday use. The main caveat is that the model has not yet completed independent crash testing, so you’re leaning on Toyota’s safety tech and the brand’s track record rather than fresh test results.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.58% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It debuts a new look, new features, and a new hybrid powertrain.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It adds a sporty Nightshade Edition trim and Dark Cosmos paint.
The bottom line: The 2025 is the better primary choice if you want the newest redesign, strong efficiency, and a market that still offers meaningful deal potential. If you’re especially price-sensitive and can wait, the 2026 may appeal if the added trim and color matter to you, but the 2025 already gives you the core Camry formula in its newest form.
