Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Camry marks the start of the model’s ninth generation and arrives as a hybrid-only sedan. That alone makes it distinctive, especially for buyers who want a mainstream family car with a strong emphasis on efficiency. Toyota also gives it a new look, new features, and a new hybrid powertrain for 2025, helping the Camry reset its baseline as a high-selling midsize sedan.
Its appeal is rooted in the qualities that have long made the Camry a favorite among families: reliability, safety, and broad value. The 2025 model is described as competitively priced and fuel-efficient, and all-wheel drive is available on every trim. Those strengths make it easy to understand why it remains such a familiar choice for shoppers who want a practical sedan without giving up modern equipment.
There are a couple of drawbacks to keep in mind. The engine is noted as noisy, and the voice assistant can be finicky. Even so, the 2025 Toyota Camry’s combination of efficiency, updated tech, and no major deal-breaking flaws gives it a clear identity as a sensible, well-rounded sedan.

Good value for a new car considering used prices are a bit crazy right now. Ride is smooth , absorbs bumps and harsh roads are not a problem for this car. I average about 60 miles to and from work everyday and so far I average 52 mpg, most of it is highway miles too. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone.

Bought a 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid yesterday and it seems like a great car. I really like the idea that I can recharge the electric battery just by breaking and letting off of the accelerator. It has a lot of room and it was comparably priced with the Corolla.

With 9,667 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare across trims and conditions.
If you find a listing below $27,658.53, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Toyota Camry earns a 4.89/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal on both ownership satisfaction and road-test evaluation.
The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.
Owners repeatedly praise its smooth ride, exceptional fuel economy, and spacious interior, and they also value its strong pricing relative to the used-car market. The Camry’s practical appeal is reinforced by its family-friendly use case: it is built for buyers who want a sensible midsize sedan with modern equipment and a strong efficiency focus.
The main trade-offs are a noisy engine and a finicky voice assistant, so you should expect a car that prioritizes efficiency and everyday usability over refinement in every situation. Even so, 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry reliable?
Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car that feels smooth, efficient, spacious, and dependable in daily use, with the kind of value that tends to matter over years of ownership. That lines up with the expert impression that Toyota has built the Camry around reliability and safety, while also keeping the hybrid system straightforward to live with.
The hybrid powertrain operates in the background and leaves the driver out of it, which supports a low-stress ownership experience. Toyota also positions the car as competitively priced for a new-generation hybrid, which helps reduce the sense that you are overpaying for long-term efficiency.
For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the core formula and more about finding a well-kept example with no hidden wear or neglected maintenance.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the car’s equipment works as expected. Since this model is a hybrid, it also makes sense to pay close attention to how smoothly it drives and whether any warning lights or unusual noises appear during a test drive.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The LE trim gets 16-inch alloy wheels and fabric seating surfaces, while SE adds black 18-inch wheels, sporty exterior touches, and SofTex synthetic leather upholstery. XLE and XSE move up to 18-inch wheels, with XSE adding 19-inch wheels, sportier styling details, and perforated leather seats. Base-trim equipment is more modest, so you should compare comfort and appearance features carefully if you want a more upscale cabin.
- Powertrain: Every 2025 Camry is a hybrid, using a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors. Front-wheel-drive models make 225 horsepower, while all-wheel-drive models make 232 horsepower. Toyota estimates 51 mpg combined for FWD and 50 mpg combined for AWD, and the electronic AWD system adds traction with only a minimal fuel-economy penalty.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. The Premium Plus Package on XLE and XSE adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist.
- Infotainment: The standard setup is an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus wireless charging and five USB ports. Higher trims get a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, while XLE and XSE can add a 10-inch head-up display and a nine-speaker JBL Premium Audio system.
- Fuel efficiency: Toyota estimates 51 mpg combined for front-wheel-drive models and 50 mpg combined for all-wheel-drive models.
Which 2025 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, XSE.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the value-focused starting point, and it gives you the core hybrid powertrain, standard safety tech, wireless smartphone integration, and the most affordable entry into the lineup. It makes the most sense if you want the Camry’s efficiency and safety without paying for extra appearance or comfort upgrades.
- SE: This trim adds a sportier look with black 18-inch wheels, front air ducts, rear diffusers, sport-mesh grilles, exposed dual-tip exhausts, and SofTex upholstery. It is the best-value choice if you want a more expressive Camry without jumping all the way to the luxury-leaning upper trims.
- XLE: This is the comfort-oriented upgrade, with a more upscale cabin, 18-inch wheels, and access to the larger touchscreen, digital gauge cluster, head-up display, JBL audio, and the Premium Plus Package. It suits you best if you want a more premium daily driver.
- XSE: This is the most style-forward trim, with 19-inch wheels, sportier exterior details, perforated leather seats, and available two-tone paint. Choose it if you want the most distinctive Camry and are willing to pay for it.
The Premium Plus Package is only offered on XLE and XSE, so those trims are the ones to target if you want the fullest safety and convenience feature set.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 9,667 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.56% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 89.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $27,658.53, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Camry's resale value?
The current average of $29,542 sits slightly below last year's $31,281.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means your best protection is buying well and choosing a clean, well-equipped example that should remain easy for shoppers to understand.
The Camry’s strong reputation for efficiency, safety, and everyday practicality should help it stay broadly appealing. If demand remains steady for dependable hybrid sedans, that should support resale value better than a less familiar or less efficient alternative.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry safe?
The 2025 Camry is too new as of this writing to have completed crash testing with independent safety organizations.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it brings blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. On higher trims, the available Premium Plus Package adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist.
The lane-keeping assist system was described as firm but deferential, which is the kind of behavior you want from a driver-assistance setup. The main caveat is that the car has not yet completed independent crash testing, so you should lean on its standard equipment and Toyota’s safety track record rather than published test results.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.56% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It debuts a new hybrid-only powertrain, fresh styling, and updated tech.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It adds a sporty Nightshade Edition trim and a new Dark Cosmos paint color.
The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the Camry’s hybrid-first formula, the 2025 is the better path because it brings the redesign, the efficiency gains, and the current market softness. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also keep an eye on the 2026, but the 2025 already looks like the smarter buy for shoppers who want the freshest setup without paying peak pricing.
