Used 2025 Toyota 4Runner for Sale nearLansing, MI

How much does the 2025 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices have softened 8.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,395 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Toyota 4Runner earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The 2025 redesign brings more capability, power, comfort, and technology, while also making the 4Runner more composed on pavement. It still keeps the rugged, all-terrain character that makes it appealing if you want a vehicle ready for rough terrain and longer adventures.

The main trade-off is that it still makes some compromises for that mission, including limited rear-seat space and a cabin that prioritizes durability over luxury. The standard engine is strong, but the hybrid is the more potent choice if you want extra low-speed muscle.

Good and great deals account for 35.2% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is built around a redesigned platform that keeps the model’s traditional toughness while adding a more modern powertrain lineup. Its standard four-cylinder turbo is described as more powerful than the previous V6, and the hybrid adds stronger usable power at lower speeds, which should help when you’re driving off-road or carrying a load.

The standard engine is also estimated to return 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined, which is a meaningful improvement over the previous generation’s efficiency. Toyota also includes a maintenance perk on the hybrid side with the first scheduled maintenance visit on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the newest redesign may not yet have the same proven track record as the outgoing generation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with a strong clean-inventory rate, you should still run a vehicle history report and verify service records before you buy. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you’re considering a higher-trim or off-road-focused example, since those trucks are more likely to have seen harder use. Pay close attention to tire wear, underbody condition, and any signs of trail damage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin design is purposeful and attractive, but the materials lean hard toward durability, with plenty of hard plastic. Base trims are also more limited on tech than higher trims, so check whether the equipment level matches your needs.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 317 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque, while the i-Force Max Hybrid raises output to 326 hp and 465 lb-ft. The hybrid is the stronger choice if you want more low-speed punch and better trail performance.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts is optional.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard on supporting trims, while a 14-inch screen is available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are offered, along with a wireless charging pad and a digital instrument panel on Hybrid variants.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard engine is estimated at 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. The Hybrid is estimated at 23/24/23.

Which 2025 Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is offered in 9 trim levels: SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, Trailhunter.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point if you want the redesigned 4Runner at the lowest price, but you’ll want to confirm the equipment level because the standard setup is more basic than the higher trims.
• TRD Sport: A good step up if you want a more polished daily driver without jumping all the way into the more specialized off-road models.
• TRD Sport Premium: Best if you want a stronger mix of comfort and equipment while staying below the more expensive adventure trims.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds the more capable off-road character the 4Runner is known for without going all the way to the top end.
• TRD Off-Road Premium: Choose this if you want the off-road hardware plus a more upscale feature set.
• Limited: A better fit if you care more about comfort and road manners than trail focus.
• Platinum: This is the trim to consider if you want the most upscale feel in the lineup.
• TRD Pro: The most capable choice if you want the strongest off-road focus and the most adventure-ready setup.
• Trailhunter: Another top adventure trim, aimed at buyers who want a highly capable overland-style 4Runner.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 comes standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts remains optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,395 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,692, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $48,910 sits slightly below last year's $53,347.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, it also means there may be less room for immediate appreciation unless demand stays strong.

The 4Runner’s redesigned appeal, strong capability, and high owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain it well, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner safe?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner does not yet have crash test results from NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. Proactive Driving Assist is also included, though it can feel intrusive for some drivers and can be disabled. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts is optional.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings more capability, power, comfort, and technology.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $47,039, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $48,910 average.
• It remains rugged and reliability-focused.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It emphasizes adventure and available hybrid power while keeping a clear off-road identity.

The bottom line: If you want the newest redesign with stronger power, better tech, and improved road manners, the 2025 is the primary pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value path, while the 2026 is worth considering if you want to compare the next model year’s adventure-focused setup.
