How much does the 2025 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 1.99% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,203 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Tesla Model Y a good car?

The 2025 Tesla Model Y stands out as a compact luxury crossover that blends strong practicality with Tesla’s familiar minimalist approach. It is based on the Tesla Model 3 and shares 70% to 75% of its parts, but its taller body, coupe-like SUV shape, and rear hatch give it more space and versatility. For you, that means a used EV that prioritizes cargo room, everyday utility, and a long driving range.

For 2025, the Model Y received its biggest update in the form of the “Juniper” refresh, which brought a new front end, new bumper, tailgate, and tail lights, along with front and rear light bars and a more modern appearance. Tesla also retuned the suspension, improved aerodynamics, added more sound-deadening, and upgraded the interior materials. Standard equipment remained generous, with heated seats in front and rear, ambient lighting, an updated audio system with more speakers, Autopilot, and a panoramic glass roof.

The market shows 28.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Tesla Model Y reliable?

The 2025 Tesla Model Y is presented as a practical electric crossover with strong range, generous standard equipment, and a roomy cargo area. It keeps the brand’s strengths front and center: quick acceleration, lots of standard features, and EV-friendly utility. For you, that makes it appealing if you want a used EV that feels modern and useful every day.

At the same time, it still has some familiar drawbacks, including a firm ride, the lack of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a cabin where almost all controls run through the touchscreen. Long-term ownership risk is best managed by focusing on how well the vehicle has been maintained and whether its electronics, ride quality, and interior condition still feel consistent with your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the cabin, touchscreen functions, and ride quality feel consistent with a well-kept used EV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,203 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.99% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 83.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,598, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $39,678 sits slightly above last year's $38,904.

That price movement suggests the Model Y has held value reasonably well in the used market. For you, that can be a positive sign if you plan to sell later, because steady demand can help support resale pricing.

The current trend also points to a market that is not heavily discounted. If you buy well now, you may be able to preserve more of your value than you would with a model facing sharper price erosion.

Should I buy a 2025 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.99% year-over-year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right path if you want the refreshed look, strong practicality, and a used-market price that still sits below new-car territory. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but you should compare condition, history, and equipment closely before deciding.
