How much does the 2025 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 13.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,448 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 RAM 2500 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It stands out as a heavy-duty pickup built for serious work, with strong towing ability, broad capability, and a more polished feel than a typical workhorse. The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and the truck can get expensive fast.

That combination makes the 2025 RAM 2500 a strong fit if you need a truck that can handle demanding hauling, towing, and off-road use while still offering a more refined cabin than many rivals. 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 RAM 2500 is described as durable and valuable to owners who need a truck they can depend on, and the expert assessment reinforces that it is built around serious capability. Its strong powertrain lineup and heavy-duty mission point to a truck designed for demanding use rather than casual commuting.

If you buy used, the main long-term risk is paying a premium for capability you may not fully need, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on wear items that can reveal hard use, and pay close attention to trim-specific equipment and any missing safety or tech packages.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry Tradesman comes with a more basic look, while the Big Horn adds a step up in appearance, and the Laramie brings the first major luxury upgrade with leather seating surfaces and larger infotainment screens. The Power Wagon and Rebel are the 4x4-only off-road models, and the Limited Longhorn and Limited move further into premium territory with upscale interior materials and finishes.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, while the revised turbocharged 6.7-liter inline-six diesel delivers 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque in High Output form. The diesel is the stronger choice if you want maximum towing and hauling muscle.
• Safety package: An optional Safety Group adds adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection on Tradesman and Big Horn trucks, and those features are standard on higher trims. Additional packages can add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist, while park assist sensors are included on all but the base Tradesman.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is an 8.4-inch touchscreen on the two lowest trims, with a 12-inch screen standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie, and an available 14.4-inch unit on the upper trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included with the 12-inch touchscreen package, and Ram also offers a passenger screen plus towing-focused camera and trailer tools.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2025 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2025 RAM 2500 is offered in 7 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Power Wagon, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to add the equipment you need. The available Level 2 Equipment Group can bring in useful upgrades like the 12-inch touchscreen, nicer cloth interior, and the Safety Group, making it the best-value path for many buyers who want a capable truck without overspending.
• Big Horn: This trim is the step up if you want a more polished look than the Tradesman and a better starting point for comfort and convenience. It also works well if you want to add safety and towing packages without jumping all the way to a luxury trim.
• Laramie: This is the sweet spot if you want the biggest jump in cabin quality, with leather seating surfaces, a 12-inch touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster. It suits you best if you want a heavy-duty truck that feels genuinely upscale without going all the way to the top of the range.
• Power Wagon: This is the dedicated off-road choice, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting sway bar. It is the right pick if trail capability matters more to you than maximum towing flexibility.
• Rebel: This is the better choice if you want off-road ability but still need to tow regularly. It keeps the rugged character while aiming for a more balanced mix of capability and everyday usefulness.
• Limited Longhorn: This trim leans into a cowboy-themed luxury look with a distinctive two-tone brown interior and filigree accents. It is a good fit if you want premium materials and a more expressive cabin.
• Limited: This is the most understated luxury choice, with open-pore wood and supple leather upholstery. It is the right pick if you want the most refined version of the truck without the more themed interior treatment.

Safety-package note: the Safety Group is optional on Tradesman and Big Horn, while the related driver-assistance features are standard on higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop, but the best listings still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,448 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,701, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $56,148 sits slightly below last year's $65,223.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the current softness means condition, trim, and equipment will matter even more when it comes time to price the truck competitively.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 safe?

The 2025 RAM 2500 earns a four-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram offers an optional Safety Group on Tradesman and Big Horn trucks that includes adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection, and those features are standard on higher trim levels. Additional packages can add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist, while park assist sensors are included on all but the base Tradesman.

The truck also offers optional camera technology across the lineup, including a surround-view camera system and a Cargo View Camera. The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the board.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings a heavily revised diesel engine with 1,075 pound-feet of torque and a new eight-speed automatic.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a few noteworthy updates and a new pair of trim levels.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, broad inventory, and proven capability, the 2025 is the safer buy. If you want the newest updates and are willing to pay for them, the 2026 is worth a look; if you are price-sensitive, the 2025 offers the better value path.
