Is the 2025 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Nissan Rogue earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

It’s a five-passenger compact SUV aimed at everyday family use, and its appeal starts with a comfortable ride, good fuel economy, and an upscale interior. The tradeoff is that acceleration and passing power are modest, and some rivals are sportier and more fun to drive.

The Rogue’s 37.0% good-or-great deal rate suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Rogue’s appeal is built around a practical, easy-to-live-with formula, and the expert evaluation highlights a smooth CVT, light and accurate steering, and a drivetrain that stays refined in routine driving. It also benefits from a comfortable ride and a cabin that feels upscale for the class.

The 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder is tuned more for everyday use than quick acceleration, so long-term ownership is likely to feel best if you value smoothness and efficiency over punch.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Rogue?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a heavily optioned trim. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the features you want are actually present on the specific listing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Rogue is offered in five trims: the base S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, and range-topping Platinum. The SV stands out as the value play because it adds an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, two rear USB-C ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, keyless entry, remote start, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and a power liftgate. The Platinum adds a more luxurious feel with semi-aniline leather seating surfaces, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and 10-speaker Bose audio.
• Powertrain: Every Rogue uses a 201-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder paired with a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available on all trims except Rock Creek, where it comes standard. The setup is smooth and easygoing, but it is not built for strong acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, intersection assist, lane departure warning, rear parking sensors, a driver attention monitor, and automatic high-beam headlights. ProPilot Assist and ProPilot Assist 2.1, a surround-view parking camera system, and traffic-sign recognition are available, with some features tied to higher trims or packages.
• Infotainment: Entry S and SV trims use an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Upper trims get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio, and Amazon Alexa.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is rated at 33 mpg combined with front-wheel drive, 31 mpg combined with all-wheel drive, and 29 mpg combined in Rock Creek form.

Which 2025 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Rogue is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and plan to keep things simple. It gives you the Rogue’s core comfort and efficiency, but it leaves out many of the convenience and tech upgrades that make the SV more appealing.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a strong mix of everyday convenience features without pushing the price into luxury territory. You get the features that make the Rogue feel more complete, including adaptive cruise control, a power liftgate, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
• Rock Creek: Choose this if you want the Rogue’s new outdoorsy personality and standard all-wheel drive. It adds all-terrain tires, a tubular roof rack, a surround-view camera system, and hill-descent control, making it the most distinctive trim in the lineup.
• SL: This is the step-up choice if you want the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in and wireless smartphone connectivity, plus a more upscale tech experience.
• Platinum: This is the most luxurious Rogue, with semi-aniline leather, a panoramic sunroof, Bose audio, and the most premium cabin presentation. It makes sense if you want the richest feature set and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, with key driver-assistance features standard and additional camera and highway-assist tech available on higher trims.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,137, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $23,386 sits slightly below last year's $27,859.

That price movement suggests the Rogue has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand stay healthy in the near term. For future sellers, the current softness means you may not see the same pricing strength that existed a year ago, especially if your vehicle is a higher-trim example with more expensive options.

Even so, the Rogue’s broad appeal as a practical compact SUV should help it remain easy to shop and easy to resell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The Rock Creek trim adds all-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, a surround-view camera system, and hill-descent control.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $20,823, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $23,386 average.
• It brings refreshed styling and Google built-in apps.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the Rock Creek trim and the latest highway-assist tech, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up some of the newest updates, the 2024 is the smarter value play.
