How much does the 2025 Nissan Pathfinder cost?

Is the 2025 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 7.5/10 expert rating, and the model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

The Pathfinder is built around value, practicality, and everyday usability, with excellent cargo capacity, comfortable seating, and a modern design. It is aimed at families who want a solid, reliable, budget-friendly three-row SUV rather than the flashiest option in the segment.

The trade-offs are clear: it is not as composed on-road as competitors, and its tech is unimpressive relative to rivals.

The market backs up that value story, with 39.9% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?

The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder is presented as a solid, reliable workhorse with a tried-and-true V6 powertrain and a well-rounded ownership experience. The expert notes also emphasize that mechanics should be familiar with the engine’s workings and that parts should be readily available.

Its overall package leans on comfort, practicality, and safety rather than complexity, which helps keep the ownership story straightforward. Nissan also includes maintenance support that covers up to three oil changes across the first two years or 24,000 miles.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about novelty and more about whether the vehicle was maintained consistently and used within its comfort-focused limits.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Pathfinder?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a trim that was used for towing or family hauling. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake wear, and signs of heavy interior use, since those are the kinds of issues that can matter most in a three-row SUV.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: From least to most expensive, the Pathfinder comes in S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum trim levels. The S and SV use cloth seats, while the Rock Creek adds leatherette-and-cloth upholstery with unique stitching, the SL moves to leather, and the Platinum upgrades to quilted semi-aniline leather. The Rock Creek also adds a more adventurous look, but it does not get extra ground clearance or skid plates, so its tougher appearance does not translate into major hardware changes.
• Powertrain: The Pathfinder uses one naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6. S, SV, SL, and Platinum trims make 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, while the Rock Creek increases output to 295 hp and 270 lb-ft on premium fuel. A nine-speed automatic handles shifting, and the Rock Creek’s all-terrain tires can blunt some of its extra punch.
• Safety package: Every Pathfinder trim includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control and Nissan’s ProPilot Assist are standard on all but the base S trim, and traffic sign recognition is standard only on the SL and Platinum trims.
• Infotainment: The S, SV, and Rock Creek use an 8-inch screen, while the SL and Platinum get a 9-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but wireless projection is limited to the 9-inch screen and only for Apple devices. Navigation is standard only on the SL and Platinum, and the Platinum adds a 12.3-inch driver-information display and head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rock Creek returns 20 mpg city, 23 highway, and 21 combined. Other 4WD trims return 21/27/23.

Which 2025 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it is also the most stripped-down version. You get the Pathfinder’s core value and safety foundation, but you miss out on features like adaptive cruise control and ProPilot Assist, which are standard on higher trims.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday comfort and convenience without jumping too far up the price ladder. It also unlocks more of the Pathfinder’s useful equipment while staying close to the model’s value-first mission.
• Rock Creek: This is the one to choose if you want the most distinctive Pathfinder and a more adventurous setup. It adds all-terrain tires, standard AWD, seven drive modes, and a roof rack, but it is still best suited to light off-roading rather than serious trail use.
• SL: This is the trim to target if you want a more upscale cabin and better tech. It adds leather seating, a larger screen, navigation, and more available comfort features, making it a strong middle ground for buyers who want more refinement.
• Platinum: This is the most luxurious Pathfinder, with the richest materials, standard ventilation, the most advanced displays, and the most complete feature set. It makes sense if you want the most premium version and are willing to pay for it.

Traffic sign recognition is standard only on the SL and Platinum trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan Pathfinder?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,230 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,442, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $32,442 sits slightly below last year's $38,033.

That price movement suggests the Pathfinder has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means sellers are facing a softer market than they were a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, mileage, and condition rather than broad market momentum.

For you as a buyer, the current pricing creates a better entry point than last year. For a future seller, the same trend means holding onto a clean, well-kept example matters more if you want to protect value.

Is the 2025 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder received a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) as well as a five-star overall rating in crash testing performed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It earns four-star ratings in overall frontal crash testing and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Pathfinder trim includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control and Nissan’s ProPilot Assist are standard on all but the base S trim, and traffic sign recognition is standard only on the SL and Platinum trims.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.70% compared with last year.
• The 2025 model adds slight updates that make an already well-rounded SUV more appealing.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds more convenience features, a larger touchscreen, and a few new styling touches.

The bottom line: The 2025 Pathfinder is the better pick if you want a value-focused three-row SUV with strong safety and a softer used-market price. If you are shopping strictly on budget, the 2025 is especially compelling right now; if you want the newest convenience upgrades, the 2026 is the better path.
