Is the 2025 Nissan LEAF a good car?

The 2025 Nissan LEAF stands out as one of the most important electric cars in the mainstream market because it helped bring battery-powered driving to a broad audience. Its appeal is rooted in approachable packaging, improved range, and simple everyday usability, and by 2025 it still leaned on value and practicality.

For you, that means the LEAF makes the most sense if you want an affordable electric car with a quiet cabin, comfortable manners, and a long track record. The market also shows 48.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which supports its value-focused reputation.

Is the 2025 Nissan LEAF reliable?

The 2025 Nissan LEAF’s strengths are still rooted in value and practicality, and it has a long track record that helps make it an approachable used EV. It also offers familiar everyday equipment and a straightforward ownership experience compared with more complex alternatives.

For long-term ownership, you should pay close attention to battery condition and charging compatibility, since older LEAFs can lose range as they age and use a less common charging standard.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s charging equipment, battery health, and software features all work as expected. Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan LEAF?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market for the 2025 LEAF, with strong deal availability and a healthy number of listings to choose from.

• Deal availability: 48.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $15,992, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Nissan LEAF's resale value?

The current average of $16,706 sits slightly below last year's $18,668.

That price trend suggests the LEAF has softened enough to help you buy in at a lower cost today, but it also means future resale may stay sensitive to mileage, battery condition, and overall market demand. If you plan to sell later, a well-kept example with strong battery health should hold up better than one with visible wear or reduced range.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan LEAF or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 48.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.51% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a redesigned body with more range and updated charging hardware.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the strongest used-market value and a broad selection of listings. If you’re more focused on newer tech, more range, and a fresher design, the 2026 is the better alternative, especially if you’re willing to pay more for the redesign. For most price-sensitive buyers, though, the 2025 remains the smarter starting point.
