Used 2025 Nissan Frontier for Sale nearPlattsburgh, NY

How much does the 2025 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 3,079 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated truck with an expert rating of 6/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

The Frontier fits you best if you want a midsize pickup with old-school appeal, a V6 engine, body-on-frame construction, comfortable front seats, quality construction, and traditional controls. Nissan also improves the truck for 2025 with more standard safety features, a new 12.3-inch touchscreen on most versions, higher towing capacity, and a more refined look and feel.

The trade-offs are clear: the Frontier still has outdated technology and poor value for money, and the expert notes also point to unimpressive safety ratings. Even so, the market shows 38.4% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Frontier’s appeal comes from its straightforward, durable-feeling design, body-on-frame construction, and traditional controls. The expert evaluation also describes it as solid, quality-minded, and robust, with a V6 powertrain that feels satisfying and a cabin that comes across as well built.

It also includes a standard Nissan Maintenance Care package that covers your first three oil changes, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its older-school hardware and mixed safety performance may matter more as mileage and age add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Frontier?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage truck or one that may have been used for towing or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, cabin wear, and how the truck drives at low speeds and over rough pavement, since that’s where its traditional truck character shows most clearly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Frontier is available in S, SV, SL, PRO-X, and PRO-4X trim levels. The base S trim keeps the smaller 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims get the larger 12.3-inch display and more modern cabin presentation. The PRO-4X stands out as the off-road-ready version, while the PRO-X has a similar look but rear-wheel drive instead of four-wheel drive.
• Powertrain: Every Frontier uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The engine is a highlight for its satisfying character, though the truck is not especially fuel-efficient.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control is also standard, while the surround-view camera with off-road mode is standard on the SL and optional on some other trims.
• Infotainment: Most versions get a new 12.3-inch touchscreen with NissanConnect, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, NissanConnect services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot with an active data plan. The base S trim continues with an 8-inch touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The Frontier PRO-4X is expected to achieve 18 mpg in combined driving, and the test truck averaged 18.8 mpg on an evaluation loop. In heavy city traffic, it returned 15.7 mpg, just shy of its 16-mpg city rating.

Which 2025 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Frontier is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, SL, PRO-X, PRO-4X.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Frontier’s core V6 truck character at the lowest price. It keeps the smaller 8-inch touchscreen, so you’re giving up some of the newer cabin tech found higher up the range.
• SV: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it balances equipment and price without pushing you into the more expensive trims. It’s the trim to target if you want a more complete daily driver without paying for the top-end models.
• SL: Choose this if you want more comfort and convenience features, plus the standard surround-view camera with off-road mode and traffic sign recognition. It’s the most appealing pick if you want a more upscale Frontier experience.
• PRO-X: This trim gives you the PRO-4X look with rear-wheel drive instead of four-wheel drive. It suits you if you want the styling and stance without the added hardware of the off-road model.
• PRO-4X: Pick this if you want the off-road-ready Frontier with Bilstein shocks, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, and all-terrain tires. It’s the right choice if you plan to use the truck on rough terrain and want the most capable version.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the surround-view camera with off-road mode is standard only on the SL and optional on some other trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan Frontier?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop, compare, and negotiate.

• Deal availability: 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,079 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,374, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $34,859 sits slightly below last year's $35,189.

That mild decline suggests the Frontier is holding value reasonably well, but not strongly enough to signal a rising market. For a future seller, that means you should expect resale to depend more on condition, mileage, and trim than on broad market momentum.

The truck’s steady pricing also suggests buyers are comparing it carefully against rivals, so well-kept examples should stand out more than average ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2025 Frontier earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side-impact crash tests and three-star ratings for driver protection and rollover resistance.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control is also standard, while the surround-view camera with off-road mode is newly standard on the SL and optional on some other trims.

The main caveat is that the Frontier’s safety performance is mixed: the expert evaluation calls out unimpressive safety ratings, and IIHS testing published so far includes a Poor result for standard halogen headlights, though updated moderate overlap front and updated side-impact crash tests were rated Good and Acceptable.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 update adds more standard safety features, a new 12.3-inch touchscreen on most trims, and higher towing capacity.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds extra standard equipment for some models and new option packages.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger shopping case right now, the 2025 is the better path because it combines stable pricing, solid inventory, and meaningful updates. If you’re price-sensitive and find a cleaner or better-equipped alternative year at a sharper discount, it’s worth comparing closely before you commit.
