Used 2025 Nissan Frontier for Sale nearBakersfield, CA

How much does the 2025 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 1.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,979 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Frontiers to compare.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Nissan Frontier earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

It stands out as a midsize pickup with old-school appeal: a V6 engine, body-on-frame construction, comfortable front seats, quality construction, and traditional controls. For you, that means a truck that feels straightforward and familiar rather than heavily digitized.

The trade-offs are clear, though: the technology is outdated, and the value proposition is weak for the money. Even so, the market still shows 36.2% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Frontier’s reliability case leans on its simple, traditional truck formula: a V6 engine, body-on-frame construction, and a cabin built around physical controls rather than complex interfaces. The expert evaluation also describes it as solid and quality-focused, which supports the idea that it should feel durable in everyday use.

Its powertrain is presented as satisfying and robust, and the truck’s straightforward setup can be a plus if you want fewer complicated systems to worry about. Nissan also includes a maintenance package that covers your first three oil changes, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the truck’s aging technology and safety concerns may matter more as mileage climbs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Frontier?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a truck that may have been used for towing or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, cabin wear, and signs of hard use, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Frontier is offered in S, SV, SL, PRO-X, and PRO-4X trim levels. The base S trim keeps the smaller 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims get the larger 12.3-inch display and more modern cabin presentation. The PRO-4X is the off-road-ready version, while the PRO-X has a similar look but rear-wheel drive instead of four-wheel drive.
• Powertrain: Every Frontier uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The engine is described as satisfying and robust, but it is not especially fuel-efficient.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control is also standard, while the surround-view camera system with off-road mode is standard on the SL and optional on some other trims.
• Infotainment: Most versions get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, NissanConnect services, and available Wi-Fi hotspot access. The base S trim continues with an 8-inch touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The Frontier is described as thirsty, and the expert evaluation notes an EPA combined estimate of 18 mpg for the PRO-4X test truck. The same evaluation also recorded 18.8 mpg on a mixed route and 15.7 mpg in heavy city traffic.

Which 2025 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Frontier is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, SL, PRO-X, PRO-4X.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it makes the Frontier’s basic truck character accessible, but it keeps the smaller 8-inch touchscreen. If you want the lowest starting point and can live without the larger infotainment setup, this is the trim to start with.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more of the Frontier’s useful everyday appeal without pushing you into the pricier specialty models. It also sits in the middle of the lineup, which usually makes it the easiest place to balance equipment and price.
• SL: This trim is the one to consider if you want the most polished everyday experience, including the standard surround-view camera system with off-road mode and traffic sign recognition. It suits you best if convenience and visibility matter more than rugged styling.
• PRO-X: This trim gives you the PRO-4X look with rear-wheel drive instead of four-wheel drive, so it’s the choice if you want the appearance and a more road-focused setup. It’s a good fit if you like the styling but don’t need the full off-road hardware.
• PRO-4X: This is the off-road-ready trim, with Bilstein shocks, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, and all-terrain tires. Choose it if you want the most capability-focused Frontier and expect to use it on rougher terrain.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the surround-view camera system with off-road mode is standard only on the SL and optional on some other trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan Frontier?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,979 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,376, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $34,453 sits slightly below last year's $34,958.

That softer pricing suggests the Frontier is currently giving buyers more room to negotiate than it did a year ago. If you buy well now, you may be starting from a more favorable cost basis than a shopper who paid closer to last year’s average.

For a future seller, that means resale performance will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck has been maintained. A clean, well-kept example should hold up better than one that shows hard use or neglected upkeep.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2025 Frontier earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control is also standard, and the surround-view camera system with off-road mode is standard on the SL and optional on some other trims.

The main caveat is that the Frontier’s safety results are mixed. The expert evaluation also notes a poor headlight result for the standard halogen setup, and the truck’s safety score reflects those concerns.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model adds more standard safety features and a new 12.3-inch touchscreen on most trims.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds extra standard equipment for some models and new option packages.

The bottom line: If you want the better shopping environment and the year-specific improvements, the 2025 is the stronger pick. If you’re mainly chasing the newest equipment and don’t mind waiting for a different model year, the 2026 is worth a look. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2025’s softer pricing and healthy deal share make it the more practical place to start.
