Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE a good car?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE earns an 8.17/10 expert rating, and it’s aimed at you if you want a premium coupe or convertible with a strong sense of occasion.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It combines great acceleration, luxury features, and a design meant to look and feel special, while also offering multiple powertrain choices and impressive technology. The trade-offs are clear: the back seat is cramped and cargo space is limited.

The market also looks reasonably accessible, with 36.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE reliable?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE is positioned as a premium, well-equipped model with a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty and complimentary roadside assistance.

Its powertrain lineup includes a mild-hybrid setup, and the performance notes point to smooth power delivery and a transmission that shifts quickly and cleanly. The cost-effectiveness notes also suggest it’s a refined choice in a segment where alternatives can be less balanced for everyday use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium features and options can make repairs and upkeep more expensive if something goes wrong.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or one with expensive options. Focus on overall condition, because this is a premium coupe or convertible where cosmetic wear, interior condition, and evidence of hard use can matter as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CLE is available in 300, 450 or AMG CLE 53 trims in either hardtop or convertible body styles, and lower trim levels use MB-Tex synthetic leather rather than leather upholstery.
• Powertrain: The 300 trim pairs a mild-hybrid system with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 255 horsepower, while the 450 uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 375 horsepower. The AMG CLE 53 raises output to 433 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, and all CLE models use a nine-speed automatic transmission.
• Safety package: The standard driver-assistance set includes blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Lane-keep assist, speed-limit monitoring, evasive steering assist, and emergency stop assist are part of the Driver Assistance Package, which costs $1,950.
• Infotainment: Every CLE gets a 12.3-inch reconfigurable gauge cluster and an 11.9-inch center touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the convertible’s center screen can tilt from 15 to 40 degrees.
• Fuel efficiency: The AMG convertible is rated at 22 mpg combined, while the hardtop with the smaller 2.0-liter engine returns 27 mpg combined.

Which 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE is offered in 3 trim levels: 300, 450, AMG CLE 53.

Here's the short version:

• 300: This is the value-oriented choice if you want the CLE experience with the smaller 2.0-liter mild-hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, and the same core tech features as the rest of the lineup.
• 450: This is the best-value upgrade if you want more power from the 3.0-liter inline-six without jumping all the way to AMG pricing.
• AMG CLE 53: Choose this if you want the strongest performance, the most aggressive styling, and the most adjustable driving character in the lineup.

The Driver Assistance Package is optional, and it adds lane changes, active steering, and stop-and-go adaptive cruise control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 634 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.18% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $62,799, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE's resale value?

The current average of $63,681 sits slightly below last year's $65,770.

That price movement suggests the CLE has softened a bit in the market, which can help you buy more selectively today. If you’re a future seller, it also means your resale outcome will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than just model-year desirability.

Because the current average is still well above the year-round low, there’s room for prices to vary meaningfully by trim and option content. A well-kept example with desirable equipment should hold up better than one that looks tired or lacks the features shoppers expect in this class.

Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE safe?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE does not have published crash-test ratings from NHTSA or IIHS in the available data.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assistance features are limited to blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. If you want more help, the Driver Assistance Package adds lane-keep assist, speed-limit monitoring, evasive steering assist, emergency stop assist, automatic lane changes, active steering, and stop-and-go adaptive cruise control.

That means you should treat the optional safety package as a meaningful upgrade rather than a nice-to-have. If safety tech matters to you, it’s worth prioritizing a car that already has that package installed.

Should I buy a 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.18% compared with last year.
• It adds strong acceleration, luxury features, and a design meant to feel special.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $57,079, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $63,681 average.
• It offers strong comfort, technology, and refinement in a fresh new nameplate.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It sharpens the AMG 53’s power and handling while staying a grand tourer.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of style, tech, and current-market availability, the 2025 is the primary target. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the later-year refinement and don’t mind paying more.
