Summary
With 1,586 currently listed for sale and an average price of $24,424.00, 34.4% of 2025 Mazda MAZDA3s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.
89.5% of 2025 MAZDA3 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 stands out by making a small, affordable, efficient car feel more polished than many rivals. Mazda says the car was last redesigned for the 2019 model year, and it is aging gracefully while still looking, feeling, and driving better than some competitors. That combination of style and driving enjoyment is a big part of its appeal, and the available body styles, sedan and hatchback, broaden its reach.
For 2025, Mazda adds value to the lineup with a new base version of the 2.5 S. The 2.5 S Select Sport gets Amazon Alexa Built-in, while the Premium and Premium Plus gain a cloud-based navigation system. The lineup also offers front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the available turbocharged and non-turbocharged versions give shoppers some flexibility. Across the range, the Mazda 3 is described as emphasizing quality, refinement, sophistication, safety, and enjoyable driving dynamics.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Mazda 3’s back seat is cramped, its technology is outdated, and rear visibility is poor. Even so, its stylish design, fun-to-drive character, and great safety ratings help make it a compelling compact car.

Exceptional driving experience. The most balanced, precision crafted steering wheel system of any cars I have ever owned (25 of them). Drives better than most acclaimed German machines out there.Mazda cars are very enjoyable to drive, yet these models are ones of the most underrated and undervalued vehicles yet. Amazing Mazda vehicles. They're excellent values, but folks have to give Mazda cars chances. Drive one. The issues I have with the current models are: 1). There's no 6 Speed Manual with the 2.5 Turbo AWD Premium Plus trim models. 2). Please, bring CD ( Compact Disc) entertainment back in all Mazdas. 3). Add colors to the interior design. It's too bland, monotonous, monochromatic, and boring. The only comparisons out there to the superb driving of Mazda vehicles are Nissan Altima SR, Audi S3 and BMW M340.

Excellent value. You only have to move up one trim level from the base to get leatherette seats. All the safety features. I was comparing against a Honda Civic and a Toyota Corolla. This was clearly the better deal.

How much does the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $24,333 |
| Year-Round Low | $23,904.87 |
| Year-Round High | $26,411.37 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $26,348 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.65% |
Prices have softened 7.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,661 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $23,904.87, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?
Yes — 5/5 from users, and 7.5/10 from experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.
The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is built around style, refinement, sophistication, safety, and enjoyable driving dynamics. It also gives you sedan and hatchback body styles, plus front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, so you can tailor it to your needs.
The trade-offs are clear: the back seat is cramped, the technology is outdated, and rear visibility is poor.
With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is described as aging gracefully, and its standard engine is smooth, quiet, and refined across the rev range. Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control Plus is standard, helping enhance handling and stability, which supports the sense of composure you want in a used car.
It also includes a complimentary one-year subscription to Mazda Connected Services, which adds some ownership convenience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the car has been maintained well enough to preserve its refinement and electronics.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the car’s condition, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear. Pay close attention to the cabin and rear visibility-related wear points, since those are areas where this model’s compromises are most noticeable.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes base, Select Sport, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Carbon Turbo, and Premium Plus trims. The base versions are the most stripped-down, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience features.
- Powertrain: You can get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 191 horsepower, or a turbocharged version with up to 250 hp and 320 lb-ft on premium fuel. The standard engine is smooth and refined, while the turbo adds stronger punch.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is available, but manual-transmission cars do not get stop-and-go capability, and lane centering assist is unavailable.
- Infotainment: Depending on version, the screen measures 8.8 inches or 10.25 inches. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be used with touch input, but wireless connectivity is limited to only a few versions.
- Fuel efficiency: The manual transmission is rated at 30 mpg in combined driving.
Which 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?
The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 7 trim levels: base, Select Sport, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Carbon Turbo, and Premium Plus.
Here's the short version:
- base: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup, but it will be the most basic choice.
- Select Sport: This is the first trim that adds more everyday appeal, and it gets Amazon Alexa Built-in for 2025.
- Preferred: This is a sensible step up if you want a better-balanced mix of features without jumping too far in price.
- Carbon Edition: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and a richer-feeling presentation.
- Premium: This is the best-value trim for driving enthusiasts because it adds the manual transmission, along with a more upscale feature set.
- Carbon Turbo: Pick this if you want the turbocharged engine and stronger performance.
- Premium Plus: This is the top choice if you want the most fully equipped version, including the turbo powertrain and added convenience features.
Safety equipment is strong across the lineup, but manual-transmission versions miss stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, and lane centering assist is unavailable.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,661 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.65% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 89.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $23,904.87, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?
The current average of $24,333 sits slightly below last year's $26,348.
That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help demand stay healthy if you buy at the right price. A car that already has a meaningful discount from last year’s average may give future sellers less room for depreciation shock if the market stays steady. Strong condition and desirable trims should matter a lot when you eventually resell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?
It earns a “Top Safety Pick+” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the maximum five-star ratings in all National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash tests, including rollover resistance.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is available, though manual-transmission cars do not get stop-and-go capability, and lane centering assist is unavailable.
One caveat is that the lane departure warning system can issue inaccurate alerts in narrowing lanes, and adaptive cruise control may slow too aggressively in sharper curves.
Should I buy a 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.65% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Mazda adds value for 2025 with a new base 2.5 S, Alexa Built-in on Select Sport, and cloud navigation on Premium trims.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $21,733, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $24,333 average.
- It offers rare flexibility with sedan or hatchback body styles, front- or all-wheel drive, and turbo or non-turbo engines.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It keeps the upscale cabin feel and engaging driving character while continuing the model’s polished personality.
- It emphasizes style, athleticism, and a more luxury-like interior than many compact cars.
The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, safety, and feature updates, the 2025 is the smart default. If your priority is the lowest purchase price, the 2024 is the better bargain. If you want to compare against the next model year’s broader personality, the 2026 remains appealing for its upscale feel and driving enjoyment.
