How much does the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 8.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,786 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out by making a small, affordable, efficient car feel more polished than many rivals, with a stylish design and a driving character that feels more refined than you might expect in this class. The expert review also notes that it still looks, feels, and drives better than some competitors, and that the 2025 updates help keep it appealing.

The trade-offs are clear: the back seat is cramped, the technology is described as outdated, and rear visibility is poor. Even so, the car’s blend of refinement and driving enjoyment makes it a strong fit if you want a compact car that feels more upscale than basic transportation.

Good and great deals account for 38.6% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a polished compact car that still feels well sorted despite its age, and the expert review emphasizes its quality, refinement, sophistication, safety, and enjoyable driving dynamics. Its standard 2.5-liter engine is described as smooth, quiet, and refined across the rev range, which supports the impression of a car built to feel durable over time.

The review also highlights that Mazda’s standard driving-assistance systems and strong safety ratings add confidence for everyday ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright dependability and more about living with its age-related compromises in technology and rear-seat packaging.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear. Focus on overall condition, because this car’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and how fresh the cabin and exterior still feel.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from base and Select Sport to Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Carbon Turbo, and Premium Plus. The base versions are the most straightforward, while higher trims add more upscale features and equipment.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 191 horsepower, while Turbo models use a turbocharged version that produces 250 hp on premium fuel or 227 hp on regular gas.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is available, but manual-transmission versions do not get stop-and-go capability, and lane centering assist is unavailable.
• Infotainment: Depending on version, the screen measures 8.8 inches or 10.25 inches. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be used with touch input, and some versions offer wireless connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The manual transmission is rated at 30 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 8 trim levels: base, Select Sport, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Carbon Turbo, Premium Plus, and 2.5 S Premium.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the Mazda 3’s core refinement and style at the lowest starting point in the lineup.
• Select Sport: This is the first step up and adds Amazon Alexa Built-in, making it a sensible value move if you want a little more convenience.
• Preferred: This trim is a good middle-ground choice if you want more comfort and a more upscale feel without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Carbon Edition: Choose this if you want a more distinctive appearance and a richer-feeling version of the Mazda 3.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for driving enthusiasts because it is the only version still available with a manual transmission.
• Carbon Turbo: Pick this if you want the turbocharged engine and stronger performance character.
• Premium Plus: This is the top-end choice if you want the most upscale turbo model and the broadest feature set.
• 2.5 S Premium: This is another strong choice for shoppers who want a well-equipped non-turbo model with the Mazda 3’s polished driving feel.

The safety package is a strength across the lineup, but manual-transmission versions miss stop-and-go adaptive cruise control and lane centering assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,786 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,523, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $22,523 sits slightly below last year's $24,493.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The current trend suggests the market has cooled from last year, so resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and trim than on broad market momentum.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and five-star ratings in all NHTSA crash tests, including rollover resistance.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is available, though manual-transmission versions do not get stop-and-go capability, and lane centering assist is unavailable.

One caveat is that the lane departure warning system can issue inaccurate alerts in narrowing lanes, and the adaptive cruise control can react too aggressively in sharper curves.

Should I buy a 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Mazda adds value with a new base 2.5 S version and updated tech features for 2025.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $21,417, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $22,523 average.
• It offers upscale styling and engaging performance in a compact-car package.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It emphasizes style, athleticism, and an available all-wheel-drive setup.
• It adds a cabin that could pass for entry-level luxury.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest used-market mix of value, safety, and updated features, the 2025 is the primary target. If price is your top priority, the 2024 is the cheaper path, while the 2026 is worth considering if you want the next model year’s styling and traction-focused appeal.
