Used 2025 Mazda CX-90 for Sale nearSpartanburg, SC

How much does the 2025 Mazda CX-90 cost?

Prices have softened 19.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,850 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-90 a good car?

The 2025 Mazda CX-90 earns an expert rating of 6.17/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It stands out in the midsize three-row SUV class by offering a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine or a plug-in hybrid, plus a stylish design and premium interior materials. Those strengths make it appealing if you want a family-size SUV that feels more upscale and more distinctive than many rivals.

The trade-offs are real: the base engine is underwhelming, the cabin can be noisy, and the technology is unintuitive. Even so, the CX-90’s overall package still makes sense if you value style, safety, and driving enjoyment over maximum space or the easiest infotainment setup.

Good and great deals account for 43.8% of listings, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-90 reliable?

The 2025 Mazda CX-90 is presented as a well-rounded family SUV with strong safety credentials and a premium-feeling cabin, but its drivetrain refinement is not a highlight. The powertrain can feel unpredictable before it warms up, and the transmission behavior can be fussy in daily use.

Its performance notes also point to some long-term ownership concerns: there’s a lack of isolation from noise and impact harshness, plus unwanted engine surge and delayed response in certain situations. Mazda does include one year of complimentary Mazda Connected Services, which is a small ownership perk, but the broader picture still suggests you should pay close attention to how the vehicle drives and feels over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is living with a powertrain and cabin experience that may feel less polished than the CX-90’s upscale appearance suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda CX-90?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a thorough test drive, especially because the CX-90’s drivetrain behavior can be uneven when cold. Focus on how the transmission, steering, brakes, and cabin controls feel in real-world use, and pay close attention to any signs of noise, harshness, or awkward operation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Select, Preferred, Premium, Premium Sport, and Premium Plus. The higher trims add more upscale equipment, but the base-level setup is where you’re most likely to notice feature gaps and a less luxurious feel.
• Powertrain: You can shop the turbocharged 3.3-liter inline six or the plug-in hybrid. The gas models deliver 280 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, while the Turbo S raises output to 319 hp and 369 lb-ft, or 340 hp on premium gas. The plug-in hybrid adds 25 miles of electric range.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and a vehicle exit warning system. Higher trims add steering assist to blind-spot monitoring, emergency lane-keeping assist, front cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow touch operation, but the native Mazda Connect system relies on the center-console knob and buttons.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.3 Turbo and 3.3 Turbo S are rated at 25 mpg combined, and the plug-in hybrid is rated for 25 miles of electric range before operating like the other models at 25 mpg combined.

Which 2025 Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mazda CX-90 is offered in 5 trim levels: Select, Preferred, Premium, Premium Sport, and Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the CX-90’s core design, safety, and driving character at the lowest starting point, but it’s also the trim most likely to leave you wanting more equipment.
• Preferred: This is the trim that should appeal to most shoppers because it adds a better balance of comfort and value without pushing you too far up the price ladder.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim if you want the CX-90 to feel more upscale, since it moves you closer to the model’s premium interior and feature-rich personality.
• Premium Sport: Choose this if you want a more distinctive appearance and a richer feature set, while still staying within the mainstream of the lineup.
• Premium Plus: This is the one to buy if you want the most luxurious-feeling CX-90 and are willing to pay for the top-end presentation.

As you move up the lineup, Mazda adds steering assist to blind-spot monitoring, emergency lane-keeping assist, front cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mazda CX-90?

The market looks favorable if you’re shopping now, with solid deal availability and a large pool of listings to compare.

• Deal availability: 43.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,850 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,307, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mazda CX-90's resale value?

The current average of $33,307 sits slightly below last year's $41,152.

That drop suggests the CX-90 has moved into a more buyer-friendly pricing zone, which can help you if you’re shopping used now. For a future seller, though, it means you should expect softer resale conditions than a year ago unless the market tightens again.

If you buy at today’s average, your future resale value may be more exposed to depreciation than it was when prices were higher. The upside is that the current market gives you a better entry point, which can help offset some of that longer-term loss.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-90 safe?

The 2025 Mazda CX-90 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star ratings in all crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, along with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda makes a long list of driver aids standard, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and a vehicle exit warning system. Higher trims add steering assist to blind-spot monitoring, emergency lane-keeping assist, front cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system.

Cruising and Traffic Support is available on higher trims as a hands-on highway aid that pairs adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist. The main caveat is that the system can be a little fussy in some real-world driving situations, and the CX-90 also produces a lot of warning chimes.

Should I buy a 2025 Mazda CX-90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 43.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.06% compared with last year.
• It pairs distinctive powertrains with premium design and strong safety ratings.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $30,614, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $33,307 average.
• It emphasizes engaging handling and a driver-focused feel.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds minor lineup updates while keeping the CX-90’s premium look and strong safety appeal.

The bottom line: The 2025 CX-90 is the better pick if you want the strongest mix of price, safety, and upscale character in the current market. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the smarter value play; if you want the latest minor updates, the 2026 is the cleaner alternative.
