Is the 2025 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Kia Sportage earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong shopper satisfaction. The overview describes it as a compact SUV that blends style, technology, and a wide range of powertrain choices, with generous standard equipment that includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Kia Connect, and Smart Key keyless entry with remote start and pushbutton start. It also stands out for offering a strong mix of capability and efficiency, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, plus available all-wheel drive and rugged X-Line and X-Pro variants for buyers who want extra traction or a more adventurous look.

That makes it a good fit if you want a well-equipped small SUV that feels modern without requiring you to move far up the trim ladder. 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2025 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview points to a model that emphasizes everyday usability, broad trim availability, and a strong feature set, which are all traits that can support a dependable ownership experience when you choose the right example. It also offers multiple powertrain choices, so you can shop for the setup that best matches your driving needs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a poorly maintained or lightly equipped example, so condition and service history matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia Sportage?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the seller’s description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more complex equipment. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and evidence of regular maintenance so you can separate a strong used Sportage from one that only looks good on paper.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,097 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,752, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $27,559 sits slightly below last year's $29,274.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy at a more favorable point but may also mean future resale gains are more limited if prices stay soft. If you plan to sell later, the Sportage’s broad appeal and strong equipment list should help it stay relevant with shoppers looking for a practical compact SUV. The hybrid and plug-in hybrid choices may also help certain versions hold attention better than a basic gas model.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $27,981, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $27,559 average.
• Revised styling gives it a fresher look.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2025 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid inventory and strong shopper satisfaction. If you’re willing to pay more for a refreshed appearance, the 2026 is the better secondary path for buyers who care more about updated styling than price.
