How much does the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz cost?

Prices have softened 4.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,437 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz a good car?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns an expert rating of 8.17/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

It is aimed at you if you want a sport truck for weekend DIY projects, hauling bulky items, and carrying adventure gear on day trips. The Santa Cruz also brings fun-to-drive character, impressive technology, and a great warranty, which helps offset its more niche mission.

The main trade-offs are the cramped back seat and limited cargo space, and the all-terrain tires can hurt on-pavement handling. If you value everyday versatility more than traditional pickup toughness, those compromises may be acceptable.

With 33.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz reliable?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz leans into everyday usefulness rather than heavy-duty work, and its great warranty helps support long-term ownership confidence. It also benefits from complimentary scheduled maintenance for three years on new-vehicle purchases, which can reduce early ownership costs.

The turbocharged engine is described as fun and strong, and the truck runs on regular gas instead of premium. Hyundai also includes Bluelink+ for the lifetime of the vehicle for the original owner, which adds convenience and value.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that this is still a compact truck with some compromises, so condition and maintenance history matter more than badge appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a truck that has seen regular hauling or rough-road use. Focus on cabin wear, cargo-bed condition, and whether the truck feels settled on the road, since the Santa Cruz’s character changes depending on trim and tire setup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans SE, SEL, SEL Activity, XRT, and Limited. The first three trims use the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder, while the XRT and Limited get the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine. The XRT adds an off-road-themed look, improved approach angle, and standard all-terrain tires, but those tires can hurt paved-road handling. The Limited is the better choice if you want the more refined on-pavement feel.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder, while the XRT and Limited use a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The turbo engine runs on regular gas and is much more satisfying, but the dual-clutch automatic can feel quirky and the all-terrain tires on the XRT can reduce road grip.
• Safety package: SmartSense includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, and lane-centering assist. Starting with the XRT, you also get an intersection collision-braking system, surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, adaptive cruise control with curve speed adjustment, and Highway Driving Assist on the XRT and Limited.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, Bluelink+ connected services, Hyundai Pay, a digital key system, fingerprint scanning, and over-the-air updates. Wireless smartphone charging is standard on all trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The SEL Activity with AWD is rated at 24 mpg combined, the Limited AWD at 22 mpg, and the XRT at 21 mpg. The turbocharged versions trade efficiency for stronger performance.

Which 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Activity, XRT, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point if you want the Santa Cruz’s core utility and standard tech without paying for extra equipment. It makes sense if you mainly want the truck’s everyday versatility and can live without the stronger turbo engine.
• SEL: This is the value-minded middle ground if you want a step up from the base trim without jumping to the pricier turbo models. It keeps the Santa Cruz’s practical mission intact while giving you a more balanced shopping target.
• SEL Activity: This is the best-value trim if you want a stronger mix of equipment and efficiency, especially with AWD. It sits in the sweet spot for shoppers who want more than the basics but do not need the XRT’s off-road styling or the Limited’s extra polish.
• XRT: Choose this if you want the turbocharged engine and the off-road-themed look, plus the added camera and driver-assistance features that start here. It is the most characterful trim, but the all-terrain tires can make it less pleasant on pavement.
• Limited: This is the trim to buy if you want the most refined Santa Cruz experience. It pairs the turbo engine with the better on-pavement driving dynamics noted in the cost-effectiveness guidance, making it the strongest pick if you care more about everyday road manners than rugged styling.

SmartSense is standard, and the XRT and Limited add the most advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,437 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,423, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz's resale value?

The current average of $29,423 sits slightly below last year's $30,967.

That softer pricing suggests the Santa Cruz has become a bit easier to buy than it was a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect the market to reward well-kept examples more than average ones, especially because the truck’s appeal depends heavily on condition and trim.

The current trend also means your future resale will likely depend on how well the truck’s mileage, equipment, and overall presentation hold up. A clean, well-optioned Santa Cruz should remain easier to move than one with visible wear or a less desirable configuration.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns a “Marginal” rating in the latest moderate overlap frontal-impact assessment, and the SmartSense technologies receive that same rating for their effectiveness in preventing a front crash.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

SmartSense includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, and lane-centering assist. Starting with the XRT trim, you also get an intersection collision-braking system, surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, adaptive cruise control with curve speed adjustment, and Highway Driving Assist on the XRT and Limited.

The NHTSA gives the Santa Cruz the highest five-star rating in each collision evaluation, coupled with a four-star rollover resistance rating. The main caveat is the IIHS frontal-impact result, which is worth weighing carefully if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.99% compared with last year.
• The 2025 adds new tech, styling updates, and off-roading enhancements.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $26,750, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $29,423 average.
• It blends pickup utility with a compact, quirky personality.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Santa Cruz with the strongest tech and feature set, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you still want the Santa Cruz formula, the 2024 is the smarter value play.
