How much does the 2025 Hyundai Kona cost?

Prices have softened 11.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,885 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Kona a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Hyundai Kona earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its modern design, tech features, and comfortable ride. They also highlight the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the touchscreen radio. On the flip side, some owners want more power for quicker acceleration and better interior materials.

That lines up with the overview: you get a compact SUV that emphasizes everyday usefulness, a comfortable ride, and modern tech rather than excitement. Even so, the market still shows 40.3% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Kona reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that feels modern, comfortable, and easy to live with, while also suggesting it can be a dependable daily driver for shoppers who value tech and practicality. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that Hyundai’s safety and feature set is broad even at lower trims, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

Hyundai’s warranty coverage adds another ownership advantage, including 10 years or 100,000 miles of powertrain coverage and five years or 60,000 miles of limited warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about choosing a well-kept example with the right equipment for your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Kona?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple trims or higher-mileage examples. Focus on condition, feature content, and whether the equipment you want is standard on the trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE is the simplest version, while SEL adds more visual polish and SEL Convenience brings a larger digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, wireless charging, digital key, built-in navigation, and a WiFi hotspot. N Line S, N Line, and Limited add the sportier design treatment, larger wheels, and more upscale touches, while Limited also adds parking-focused convenience tech.
• Powertrain: SE, SEL, and SEL Convenience use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque paired with an IVT. N Line S, N Line, and Limited use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, and Safe Exit Warning are standard across all trims. SEL Convenience and above add Highway Driving Assist and enhanced forward collision avoidance with junction turning and door opening detection.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 12.3-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. SEL Convenience and above add wireless smartphone charging and Hyundai’s digital key, while built-in navigation is limited to SEL Convenience, N Line, and Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: The base FWD 2.0-liter engine returns 31 mpg combined, while AWD drops that figure by around 3 mpg. The turbocharged engine is rated at 28 mpg combined in FWD form and 26 mpg combined with AWD.

Which 2025 Hyundai Kona trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Kona is offered in 6 trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Convenience, N Line S, N Line, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Kona experience with standard wireless smartphone integration, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and the full base safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest price and are comfortable skipping the extra convenience features.
• SEL: This is the value step-up if you want a little more polish without jumping too far in price. It adds visual upgrades and keeps the Kona’s practical strengths intact, but the biggest feature gains still sit higher in the lineup.
• SEL Convenience: This is the best-value trim. It adds heated front seats, the larger digital instrument cluster, Highway Driving Assist, built-in navigation, wireless charging, digital key, and a WiFi hotspot, making it the sweet spot for most shoppers.
• N Line S: This trim is for buyers who want the sportier look and the stronger turbocharged engine without going all the way to the top. It also gets the more upscale exterior treatment and larger wheels.
• N Line: This is the better choice if you want the turbo engine plus the upgraded audio and more premium feel. It suits you if you care about style and everyday comfort more than maximizing value.
• Limited: This is the most feature-rich version, adding parking-focused convenience tech and the most upscale equipment mix. It makes sense if you want the most complete Kona and are willing to pay for it.

All trims include the standard safety suite, and SEL Convenience and above add Highway Driving Assist and enhanced forward collision avoidance.

• Deal availability: 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,885 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,522, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $21,522 sits slightly below last year's $24,455.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the market holds up. If prices stabilize, today’s lower entry point could help limit depreciation from here. If supply stays healthy, resale values may remain more competitive than they were a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the same practical space, standard safety, and wireless tech while adding a couple of new trim levels.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $21,482, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $21,522 average.
• It brings a fresh redesign with new tech and a broad range of choices.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It simplifies the lineup and adds more standard safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a broad used-car inventory, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If you’re focused on shaving a little more off the purchase price, the 2024 is the better budget-minded alternative.
