Is the 2025 Honda HR-V a good car?

The 2025 Honda HR-V stands out as a practical, easy-to-live-with compact SUV that emphasizes comfort, usability, and everyday refinement. It offers a higher driving position and a useful cargo area, while the ride is described as very good.

The cabin also gets an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a seven-inch touchscreen as standard, and a larger nine-inch screen on the top-spec HR-V EX-L model. Honda Sensing is part of the package as well, bringing adaptive cruise control with a low-speed follow function, traffic-sign recognition, traffic-jam assist, lane-departure warning, rear-seat alert, and driver attention monitoring.

What makes the HR-V appealing is the way it balances Honda’s strong reliability reputation with a spacious interior and a long list of useful features. It also includes 10 airbags across the range, and the available blind-spot information system with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors adds convenience on certain models.

Is the 2025 Honda HR-V reliable?

The 2025 Honda HR-V stands out as a practical, easy-to-live-with compact SUV that emphasizes comfort, usability, and everyday refinement. It balances a useful cargo area, a very good ride, and a long list of everyday features with Honda’s strong reliability reputation.

The cabin’s updated infotainment system, standard safety tech, and broad feature set support its reputation as a sensible ownership choice. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about whether the vehicle has been maintained well and used in a way that matches its modest performance character.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda HR-V?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the condition of the drivetrain, brakes, tires, and electronics. Focus on overall wear and maintenance records, especially if you want a clean example that should feel easy to live with for the long haul.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda HR-V?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,636 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,793, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $26,526 sits slightly below last year's $27,134.

That softer pricing suggests the HR-V is holding value reasonably well, but not aggressively enough to signal a rising market. If you buy now, you may benefit from the current dip, though future resale will still depend heavily on mileage, condition, and equipment.

For a future seller, the current trend means you should expect a stable but not especially strong resale environment. Clean history, strong maintenance records, and desirable equipment will matter more if you want to protect value later.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.24% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $28,775, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $26,526 average.
• It adds a refreshed infotainment system with faster response and wireless smartphone features.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better primary pick if you want the stronger value proposition and a broader pool of lower-priced listings. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2025 makes more sense than stepping up to the 2026, unless the newer tech updates are worth the extra cost to you.
