How much does the 2025 Genesis GV80 cost?

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 a good car?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 earns an expert rating of 8/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

You get a stylish luxury SUV with a refreshed inside-and-out design, standard all-wheel drive, and a strong technology story centered on wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also undercuts some European rivals on price, which helps its appeal if you want upscale features without stretching as far.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and uncomfortable seats.

With 39.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 reliable?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 is presented as a strong contender in the luxury crossover space, with a traditional layout and a powertrain that carries over for the year. Its updated technology and upscale materials support the sense that it’s built to feel polished and well sorted.

The performance notes point to satisfying acceleration from the larger engine, a quiet cabin, firm and linear brakes, and a ride that’s best suited to cruising rather than aggressive driving. That combination suggests a vehicle that should feel composed in everyday use.

Genesis also backs the GV80 with a 5 year/60,000 mile basic warranty and a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain guarantee, which is a meaningful ownership perk for used buyers.

For long-term ownership, the main risk is that you’re still buying a luxury SUV with known efficiency and comfort compromises, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple trims or higher-mileage examples. Focus on seat condition, feature operation, and whether the equipment level matches what you want, since some desirable items move up the trim ladder.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GV80 is available with two engine options and five trims, and the base setup is the 2.5-liter engine in Standard, AWD, Select, Advance and Prestige. The larger powerplant is only available in Advance and Prestige trims, while upper trims add features like remote smart parking and a 360-degree camera system.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, while the twin-turbocharged six-cylinder makes 375 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. Every trim gets all-wheel drive, and the system can send up to 100 percent of torque to the rear wheels.
• Safety package: Genesis Highway Drive Assist is standard and includes an attention monitor, while the broader suite also includes lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Upper trims add remote smart parking and a 360-degree camera system.
• Infotainment: All trims get a 27-inch OLED screen that combines the digital gauge cluster and infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with wireless charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot and four USB-C ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA gives the four-cylinder engine 19 miles per gallon city, 24 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined. The six-cylinder engine only nets 16/22/19.

Which 2025 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 is offered in 5 trim levels: Standard, AWD, Select, Advance and Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GV80’s core appeal at the lowest price, including standard all-wheel drive and the full 27-inch OLED screen setup.
• AWD: This is the trim to watch if you want the best value, because it adds the features Genesis deleted from the base setup, including a heated steering wheel, digital key and spare tire.
• Select: Choose this if you want a step up in equipment without jumping all the way to the upper trims.
• Advance: This is where the larger engine becomes available, so it makes sense if you want more power along with a richer feature set.
• Prestige: Pick this if you want the most upscale version, since it sits at the top of the range and pairs with the larger engine.

Genesis’ Highway Drive Assist is standard, and upper trims add more convenience and parking tech.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Genesis GV80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,872 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $49,105, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $49,105 sits slightly below last year's $58,648.

That drop suggests the GV80 has become more attractive to used buyers than it was a year ago. If you’re planning to sell later, you should expect pricing pressure to remain tied to market softness and the model’s luxury-SUV competition.

For you, that means buying at the right price matters more than chasing a premium trim unless the equipment really fits your needs. A well-kept example with desirable features should still be easier to justify than one with a weaker condition story.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 has not yet been rated by NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Genesis Highway Drive Assist is standard, and it includes an attention monitor that watches the driver’s eyes and can be turned off in the infotainment system. The broader safety suite also includes lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a blind view monitor that shows a camera feed of the blind spot in the digital cluster when you signal.

Upper trims add remote smart parking and a 360-degree camera system. One caveat is that some driver-assist settings take a few taps to adjust, which can be inconvenient if you want to toggle them quickly.

Should I buy a 2025 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.27% compared with last year.
• The 2025 model adds a refreshed design, updated interior materials, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,316, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $49,105 average.
• It remains a stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding midsize luxury SUV.

The bottom line: If you want the fresher design, updated tech, and stronger current-market deal potential, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up the refresh, the 2024 is the smarter value play.
