How much does the 2025 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 12.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,491 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL stands out as a full-size SUV built around space, flexibility, and a wide range of powertrain choices. It adds more than a foot between the front and rear axles, which gives you extra passenger room in the third row and a lot more cargo space behind that seat.

Its appeal is strongest if you want a large SUV that can handle people and gear without feeling cramped. The Yukon XL’s strengths include plenty of cargo space, a spacious third row, and multiple powertrains, while its drawbacks include poor fuel economy, poor handling compared to car-based crossovers, and outdated technology in older models.

With 33.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent amount of market flexibility if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL stands out as a full-size SUV built around space, flexibility, and a wide range of powertrain choices. It’s aimed at buyers who need a large SUV that can carry people and gear with ease, and its strengths center on cargo space, a spacious third row, and multiple powertrains.

Its drawbacks are also clear: poor fuel economy, poor handling compared to car-based crossovers, and outdated technology in older models. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about living with the size, complexity, and operating costs of a big truck-based SUV than about its core usefulness.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific listing matches the seller’s claims on mileage, ownership, and service records. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment, since condition and maintenance matter a lot on a large SUV like this.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,491 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $73,171, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $73,171 sits slightly below last year's $83,584.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped, since the broader market has softened. If you keep the SUV clean, well maintained, and competitively priced, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.46% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 GMC Yukon XL makes the most sense if you want the latest version of this long-wheelbase SUV’s space and flexibility, along with a market that gives you some room to negotiate. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, especially if you can find a cleaner or better-equipped example at a lower asking price.
