How much does the 2025 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 8.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,013 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 GMC Terrain a good car?

The 2025 GMC Terrain stands out as a redesigned compact SUV with a more upscale, tech-heavy cabin than before. Standard equipment includes a 15-inch touchscreen with the latest GMC infotainment software and Google built-in, plus an 11-inch digital driver information center directly in front of the driver. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED headlamps, and a comprehensive set of safety features also come standard, giving the Terrain a strong list of everyday conveniences right from the start.

It is also notable for offering a single 1.5-liter turbocharged engine across the lineup. Front-wheel-drive versions produce 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, use a continuously variable automatic transmission, and can tow up to 800 pounds, while all-wheel-drive versions keep the same output, switch to an eight-speed automatic, and raise towing capacity to 1,500 pounds. The 2025 Terrain also adds a Drive Mode Selector, with Normal and Snow modes on front-wheel-drive models and Normal, AWD, Snow, and Off-Road modes on all-wheel-drive versions.

At the same time, the Terrain has some clear limitations. Cargo space is modest for the compact crossover class, with 30 cubic feet behind the rear seats and up to 64 cubic feet with them folded. It also does not offer a hybrid powertrain, which leaves it at a disadvantage against some rivals. Even so, the 2025 GMC Terrain should appeal to buyers who want a comfortable, well-equipped small SUV with a premium feel and a broad set of standard features.

42.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests you have room to shop carefully and still find competitive offers.

Even so, the 2025 GMC Terrain should appeal to buyers who want a comfortable, well-equipped small SUV with a premium feel and a broad set of standard features.

For long-term ownership, the main risk is that you are buying a compact SUV with a single gasoline powertrain and a relatively modest cargo package, so condition and maintenance history matter more than chasing a more complex setup.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Terrain?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific listing matches its advertised condition and equipment. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with incomplete service records. Focus on overall wear, interior condition, and how well the tech and convenience features work, since those are major parts of the Terrain’s appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Terrain?

This is a favorable buyer’s market for the 2025 GMC Terrain, with solid inventory and a meaningful share of listings priced competitively.

• Deal availability: 42.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,013 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,700, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $26,700 sits slightly below last year's $29,177.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped. If you buy at the right price and keep the SUV in strong shape, you should be better positioned to limit depreciation pressure later.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 42.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.49% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 Terrain makes the most sense if you want the redesigned cabin, standard tech, and a strong mix of comfort and convenience features in a compact SUV. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025 is the better pick if you want the newer interior and a market that currently favors shoppers.
