Used 2025 Ford Maverick for Sale nearTuscaloosa, AL

How much does the 2025 Ford Maverick cost?

Prices have softened 3.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,669 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick a good car?

Generally — the 2025 Ford Maverick earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its practicality, comfortable seating, and good fuel economy, especially with the hybrid powertrain. They also like the spacious cabin and modern features. On the other hand, some shoppers note the absence of certain safety features and luxuries like heated seats.

That lines up with the Maverick’s role as a compact pickup that gives you truck usefulness without moving up to a larger truck, while still feeling fresh thanks to its styling and tech updates. The trade-off is that it is no longer the bargain it once was, and the touchscreen-heavy controls may not suit every buyer.

Good and great deals account for 30.6% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels practical, comfortable, and efficient over time, with many drivers describing the hybrid as especially appealing for everyday use. That kind of praise usually tracks with a vehicle you can count on for routine commuting and light-duty truck work.

The expert evaluation also describes the Maverick as pleasant to drive and practical, with the hybrid making a strong daily-driver case. Ford’s warranty coverage includes hybrid-component protection that helps support ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic usability and more about making sure the specific truck you choose has been maintained well and does not have unresolved issues from its early life.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage truck or one with a lot of tech features. Focus on overall condition, how the controls work, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the trim level you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL gives you the essentials, while XLT and Lariat add more comfort and appearance upgrades. The Tremor is the off-road model with dedicated suspension tuning, all-terrain tires, skid plates, and a twin-clutch rear drive unit, while the Lobo is the street-focused performance variant with lowered suspension and unique styling. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps, especially if they want more convenience or advanced equipment.
• Powertrain: You can shop a hybrid setup with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, single electric motor, and CVT, or a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with more power and an automatic transmission. The hybrid is the efficiency play, while the turbo engine is the stronger choice if you want more punch.
• Safety package: The base XL includes forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams. XLT adds lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning, while Lariat and Tremor bring adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go functions. A 360-degree camera system is also available for 2025, so check carefully for the driver-assistance features you want.
• Infotainment: You get a 13.2-inch touchscreen, Sync 4, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an eight-inch digital instrument cluster. The system is more modern than before, but you should make sure the touchscreen controls feel usable to you.
• Fuel efficiency: The base FWD hybrid returns an EPA-estimated 38 mpg combined, while the AWD hybrid is rated at 37 mpg combined. The 2.0-liter turbo-four models are rated at 25 mpg combined, and the Tremor comes in at 23 mpg combined.

Which 2025 Ford Maverick trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Maverick is offered in 5 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, Lobo.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the value play if you want the Maverick’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. You still get the practical cabin, the standard hybrid powertrain, and the basic safety equipment, but you should expect the fewest comfort and convenience features.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment without pushing you into the pricier upper end of the lineup. It also brings important safety upgrades over the XL, making it the trim to target if you want a more balanced daily driver.
• Lariat: Choose this if you want the most polished mainstream Maverick experience. It adds more upscale touches and is also one of the trims that unlocks adaptive cruise control, so it suits buyers who want more comfort and more advanced driver assistance.
• Tremor: Pick this if you want the off-road-focused Maverick. It gets dedicated suspension tuning, all-terrain tires, skid plates, and AWD hardware designed for rougher use.
• Lobo: This is the one to buy if you want the Maverick’s most distinctive driving character. It is the street-performance model, with lowered suspension, unique braking and cooling upgrades, and a track-focused drive mode.

The safety-package gap is most noticeable on the base XL, so if advanced driver assistance matters to you, step up at least one trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,669 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.18% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,506, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Maverick's resale value?

The current average of $31,843 sits slightly below last year's $32,890.

That price movement suggests the Maverick has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean future resale gains are more modest than they were when the truck was newer and cheaper. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in good condition, you should still have a solid path to resale because compact trucks with strong utility tend to stay in demand.

The Maverick’s broad appeal, hybrid efficiency, and practical packaging should help it remain attractive to used shoppers. But because the model is no longer the bargain it once was, future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick safe?

The 2025 Ford Maverick earns four-star ratings in rollover crash testing and five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests from NHTSA, while IIHS gave it a top Good rating in the updated side crash test, an Acceptable headlight rating, and a Marginal rating in the updated moderate overlap front test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Maverick’s standard driver-assistance equipment includes forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams on the base XL. If you move up to the XLT, you get lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning, while the Lariat and Tremor add adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go functions. A 360-degree camera system is also available for 2025.

The mixed crash-test picture is the main caution here, especially the Marginal IIHS result. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to trim level and equipment rather than assuming every Maverick is equally well equipped.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Maverick or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model adds a refreshed look, updated tech, a new Lobo performance variant, and an AWD hybrid.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Maverick with the best mix of tech, efficiency, and lineup breadth, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into a Maverick for less money, a nearby model year may be the better value path, especially if you are willing to give up some of the refresh updates and newer features.
