Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport a good car?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns a 7.8/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

The Bronco Sport is designed primarily with off-road enthusiasts in mind, but it still aims to work as an all-around crossover. That shows up in its standard all-wheel drive, strong handling, and distinctive styling, along with a 2025 update that adds tech, styling, and interior improvements. The trade-offs are that its touchscreen controls can be excessive and its fuel economy is mediocre, so you’re balancing capability and character against everyday simplicity and efficiency.

There are 36.9% good or great deals in the market, which suggests you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport reliable?

The Bronco Sport is presented as a rugged, all-around crossover with standard all-wheel drive and a focus on off-road use, so it’s built around capability rather than softness. For 2025, Ford also adds tech, styling, and interior updates, which broadens its appeal beyond trail use.

Its performance setup is straightforward: most trims use a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, while Badlands models get a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The all-wheel-drive system includes torque-vectoring hardware, and the available off-road packages add Trail Control, one-pedal driving, all-terrain tires, and underbody protection.

Ford’s warranty coverage includes a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a vehicle built around off-road hardware and more complex systems can cost more to keep in top shape if it has been used hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the vehicle has been used for trail driving or fitted with off-road packages. Pay close attention to the condition of the tires, underbody protection, suspension components, and interior controls, since those are the areas most likely to show wear on a Bronco Sport.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Bronco Sport’s styling leans rugged, and the 2025 updates include off-road-focused packages on select trims. The base setup is more about everyday usability, while higher trims and package-equipped versions add more trail-ready hardware and features.
• Powertrain: Most trim levels come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque. Badlands models use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, and all models use an eight-speed automatic with all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.
• Infotainment: For 2025, the Bronco Sport upgrades to Sync 4 with a 13.2-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The larger screen and digital cluster are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter turbo-three is rated at 27 mpg combined, including 25 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. The 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 23 mpg combined, including 21 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

Which 2025 Ford Bronco Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is offered in 5 trim levels: Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage, and Free Wheeling.

Here's the short version:

• Big Bend: This is the entry point and the best place to start if you want the Bronco Sport’s core personality without stretching your budget. It also serves as the launch point for the Black Diamond off-road package, which adds more trail-focused hardware.
• Free Wheeling: This trim is for you if you want the Bronco Sport’s rugged shape with a more style-forward look. It’s one of the design-focused trims, so it makes sense if appearance matters as much as capability.
• Heritage: This is another design-focused choice, and it suits you if you want a more distinctive take on the Bronco Sport without moving all the way up the lineup.
• Outer Banks: This is the trim to consider if you want a more upscale feel and the option to add the Sasquatch Package. It’s a strong middle-ground choice for buyers who want more equipment and more capability.
• Badlands: This is the most capability-focused trim, and it’s the one to choose if you want the strongest off-road hardware. It also gets the most advanced version of the available off-road setup, making it the best-value trim for serious trail use.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.

• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.97% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Bronco Sport with stronger tech and more off-road-focused options, the 2025 is the better pick. If you’re mainly trying to minimize purchase price, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025’s softer pricing and updated equipment make it a compelling target.
