How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 14.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,475 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The Tahoe’s fresh look and upgraded interior give it a more modern feel, and the new 17.7-inch touchscreen is a major step up. It also remains a strong fit if you want a large SUV with serious towing ability and updated technology.

The trade-offs are that cargo room is tight with all rows in place, and the V8 engines are thirsty.

37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tahoe’s 5.3-liter V8 is described as battle-tested with a strong reputation for reliability, and the available diesel is presented as refined, smooth, and quiet. The model also keeps a 10-speed automatic transmission and a familiar, low-tech control layout for key functions, which can help reduce day-to-day frustration.

Chevrolet also includes useful standard driver-assistance equipment, which can support ownership confidence over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a large SUV with thirsty V8s can be costly to run if you rack up a lot of miles.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at higher-mileage examples or trucks that were used for towing. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the cabin tech and controls work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS is the no-frills starting point, while the LT, Z71, RST, Premier, and High Country add more equipment and cost. The Z71 is the rugged-looking choice with full-length skid plates, front recovery hooks, all-terrain tires, and a one-inch lift, while the RST leans toward street-performance styling. The High Country and Premier target buyers who want a more luxurious feel.
• Powertrain: The Tahoe offers a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel. The diesel is the standout for efficiency and is described as refined, smooth, and quiet, while the V8s deliver traditional Tahoe character but use more fuel.
• Safety package: Every Tahoe includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system. Super Cruise is available, but not on the initial wave of new Tahoes expected in late 2024.
• Infotainment: You get a 17.7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Google Built-in. The system also works with an 11-inch driver information screen and an optional 15-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel can return up to 27 mpg on the highway, making it the most efficient powertrain in the lineup.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier, High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the value play if you want the Tahoe’s new 17.7-inch touchscreen and standard driver-assistance suite without paying for extra luxury or appearance upgrades. It’s the best starting point for shoppers who care more about capability and core tech than premium features.
• LT: This is the trim to consider if you want a more balanced mix of equipment and price. It builds on the LS with more comfort and convenience content, making it a sensible middle ground for many buyers.
• Z71: Choose this if you want the most rugged-looking Tahoe, with skid plates, front recovery hooks, all-terrain tires, and a lifted stance. It suits you best if you want a Tahoe with a more adventurous personality.
• RST: This is the style-forward choice, with street-performance-focused design cues and a sportier look. It’s a good fit if appearance matters more than off-road hardware.
• Premier: This is where the Tahoe starts leaning more upscale, with a stronger luxury focus than the lower trims. It makes sense if you want a more premium-feeling family SUV.
• High Country: This is the top-end choice, and it’s the one to buy if you want the most luxurious Tahoe experience. It also comes standard with the 6.2-liter V8.

The safety package is a strong part of the Tahoe story, and even the base LS gets the core ADAS suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,475 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $60,781, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $60,781 sits slightly below last year's $71,007.

That drop suggests the Tahoe has moved into a more buyer-friendly pricing zone, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, mileage, and how well the truck has been maintained.

The good news is that the Tahoe still has strong appeal thanks to its updated tech, strong towing ability, and broad market recognition. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe safe?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe has not been crash-tested by NHTSA, but the 2024 Tahoe earned four-star overall crash safety ratings from NHTSA. The 2024 Tahoe also received an Acceptable rating in the small overlap front test and a Poor rating in the moderate overlap front updated test from IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system on every Tahoe. Super Cruise is available, though not on the initial wave of new Tahoes expected in late 2024.

The main caveat is that the IIHS results were mixed, so you should weigh the Tahoe’s strong standard safety tech against those crash-test shortcomings.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings a fresh look, a major interior and tech upgrade, and an upgraded diesel engine that stands out for efficiency and performance.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Tahoe experience, the 2025 is the better pick because it adds meaningful tech and interior improvements without changing the Tahoe’s core strengths. If your priority is simply getting into a capable full-size SUV for less money, a nearby older model year may be the more price-sensitive path.
