How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 10.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,399 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu stands out as the final chapter for Chevrolet’s long-running front-drive sedan, and that gives it a distinctive place in the brand’s lineup. It is described as a roomy, good-value family car with sleek styling and a more open-feeling back seat than earlier versions, and it is also noted for straightforward, user-friendly features.

That mix makes it appealing if you want a practical, comfortable sedan that is easy to live with. It was never as refined as some rivals, and its driving character was often described as dull, so it fits best if your priorities are space, comfort, and value rather than excitement.

Market signal: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu is described as having a reputation for being more reliable than older Malibus, which helps explain why it remained appealing even as Chevrolet let the nameplate linger. Its later-year reputation is tied to a straightforward ownership experience, with intuitive infotainment and a practical, easy-to-use layout.

For used buyers, that points to a lower-risk long-term ownership profile than earlier Malibu generations, especially if you choose a well-kept example with a clean history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the cabin and electronics show the kind of wear that can hint at harder use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,399 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,018, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $20,018 sits slightly below last year's $22,443.

That decline suggests the Malibu is currently in a softer pricing environment, which can help you buy more affordably today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. If you keep the car clean, documented, and accident-free, you give yourself a better chance of standing out when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.81% compared with last year.

The bottom line:

The 2025 Malibu makes the most sense if you want the final-year version of a roomy, comfortable, value-focused sedan and you can find one with a clean history and strong condition. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing closely, but the 2025 is the cleaner choice if you want the latest version of this long-running formula.
