How much does the 2025 BMW M3 cost?

There are 313 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 BMW M3 a good car?

The 2025 BMW M3 earns an 8.5/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Safety.

You’re looking at a super sedan that blends serious performance with everyday usability, and BMW’s 2025 updates help keep the formula fresh. The car’s strengths include breathtaking overall performance, intuitive traction control systems, and commodious interior dimensions.

The trade-offs are real, though: the styling won’t appeal to everyone, the infotainment system takes some getting used to, and the car can feel heavy and dimensionally large.

With 35.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively if you want the right combination of price and equipment.

Is the 2025 BMW M3 reliable?

The 2025 BMW M3 is built around BMW’s inline-six layout with two mono-scroll turbochargers and no hybrid assistance, which keeps the powertrain straightforward for a modern performance sedan. The expert review also emphasizes that the car delivers thrilling acceleration across the rev band and remains usable for everyday driving.

The performance tuning is broad and flexible, with configurable damping, throttle response, steering, exhaust volume, brake feel, and traction control. That kind of adjustability can help you tailor the car to commuting, spirited driving, or track-style use without changing the hardware.

For long-term ownership, the main risk is that a highly stressed performance car can be expensive to keep in top shape, so condition and maintenance history matter more than they would on a mainstream sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW M3?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with performance hardware and multiple drivetrain and transmission combinations. Focus on wear items, evidence of hard use, and whether the car’s equipment matches the way you plan to drive it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car emphasizes a six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive, and a more driver-focused setup, while Competition versions add more power and an automatic transmission. The Competition xDrive adds all-wheel drive, and the standard car does not include the Driving Assistance Professional Package.
• Powertrain: All versions use a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six, with 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque in base form and 503 hp and 479 lb-ft in Competition trim. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and xDrive is reserved for the Competition xDrive model.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. BMW’s Active Driving Assistant Pro adds radar cruise control, lane-centering, lane-change assist, traffic jam assist, and evasion assist.
• Infotainment: The car uses a 14.9-inch iDrive 8.5 display, and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM compatibility, and Bluetooth are standard. The system is smooth, but it can take some getting used to.
• Fuel efficiency: The M3 returns an EPA-rated 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined.

Which 2025 BMW M3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW M3 is offered in 3 trim levels: M3, M3 Competition, M3 Competition xDrive.

Here's the short version:

• M3: This is the best-value choice if you want the classic M3 formula: a six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive, and the core performance experience without paying for extra power or the automatic transmission.
• M3 Competition: This trim is the step-up pick if you want more horsepower and the eight-speed automatic, along with a few mostly superficial exterior and interior upgrades.
• M3 Competition xDrive: Choose this one if you want the quickest, grippiest version and prefer all-wheel drive with the same automatic transmission and higher-output engine.

The standard safety package is generous, but the Driving Assistance Professional Package is not available on the base trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW M3?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 313 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $90,065, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW M3's resale value?

The current average of $90,065 sits slightly below last year's $93,720.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently today. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you may not see the same pricing strength that was present a year ago.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this model year is already trading below its prior average, so resale value will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and equipment. Well-kept examples with desirable trim and drivetrain combinations should hold up better than neglected or heavily modified cars.

Is the 2025 BMW M3 safe?

The 2025 BMW M3 comes standard with a suite of advanced safety features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW’s Active Driving Assistant Pro adds radar cruise control, lane-centering, lane-change assist, traffic jam assist, and evasion assist. If you want the most comprehensive driver-assistance setup, that package is the one to look for.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW M3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.90% compared with last year.
• BMW’s 2025 updates keep the current G80 generation fresh while preserving the M3’s everyday-friendly high-performance character.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this generation with strong performance, broad usability, and a market that has softened a bit, the 2025 is the right place to start. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may be the better path, especially if you can find a well-kept example with the equipment you want.
