How much does the 2025 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 18.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe earns a 6.3/10 expert rating.

The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It is positioned as a relatively affordable way into BMW ownership, and it still feels suitably sporty. For you, that means the car makes sense if you want an entry-level luxury sedan with sharper driving character and standard all-wheel drive, plus plenty of cargo space for everyday use.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling is uninspired, the technology is unintuitive, and the ride quality is firm. Those drawbacks matter most if you value a polished cabin experience or a softer commute.

With 38.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is described as a redesigned model with more power and technology, and its standard equipment includes a broad set of driver-assistance features. The expert review also notes that the available safety systems performed as expected in testing, with no false alarms or technical glitches.

Its performance hardware is straightforward: a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and standard all-wheel drive. That setup should appeal if you want a modern, well-equipped entry luxury car, but the long-term ownership risk for used buyers is still tied to how well the car was maintained and whether its more complex technology and driveline systems were cared for properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 2 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or lots of tech features. Focus on overall condition, how the transmission and driver-assistance systems behave, and whether the cabin electronics work cleanly and consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is more traditional BMW than its Mini-based roots might suggest, and the interior can be upgraded with sport steering wheel, M Division-inspired accents, sport front seats, and an optional M Performance package. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to which appearance and comfort features are missing.
• Powertrain: The car uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and standard all-wheel drive. The setup is tuned for quick, smooth shifts and strong passing power, with the more powerful M235 version adding more output and firmer hardware.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system. The optional Driving Assistant Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: All models come with a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system. Over-the-air software updates are included, and the available Technology package adds a 12.3-inch customizable instrument panel and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The 228 xDrive Gran Coupe is rated at 26 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined, while the M235 xDrive returns 24 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 27 mpg combined.

Which 2025 BMW 2 Series trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 228 xDrive Gran Coupe and M235 xDrive Gran Coupe.

Here's the short version:

• 228 xDrive Gran Coupe: This is the better-value choice if you want the entry point into the redesigned lineup with standard all-wheel drive, strong fuel economy, and the core tech and safety features already included. It gives you the most accessible path into the model without giving up the car’s main appeal.
• M235 xDrive Gran Coupe: This is the one to choose if you care most about performance. It adds more power, upgraded brakes, a rear spoiler, unique interior trim, sport seats, and a sport steering wheel, and it can be further sharpened with the optional M Performance package. It suits you best if you want the most athletic version and are willing to pay for it.

The optional Driving Assistant Professional package is the key safety add-on to look for if you want the fullest driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 2 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Inventory: There are 1,556 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,149, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $36,157 sits slightly below last year's $44,320.

That drop suggests the market has moved in your favor if you're buying now, but it also means a future seller may face softer pricing than owners saw a year ago. If you plan to resell later, the current trend points to a model that may hold value better when bought at the right price rather than at the top of the range.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series safe?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with standard advanced safety and driver assistance features like forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The optional Driving Assistant Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and traffic jam assist. A surround-view camera system and head-up display are available as part of the Technology package.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.42% compared with last year.
• The redesigned model adds more power and technology while keeping the car’s sporty character.

The bottom line: If you want the newer redesign with more power, more tech, and standard all-wheel drive, the 2025 is the better path. If your priority is simply getting into the model at the lowest possible price, a nearby year may be worth a look, but the 2025 gives you the freshest version of the formula.
